Women who have chronic health problems or unusual health histories will have more tests than most women, although not all health care providers use the same tests and procedures.

Are there any routine tests (or even tests that aren't so routine) that you have declined having done while pregnant? What were your reasons for passing up those tests?

Well, I have not been on the message boards in a LONG time, but I just happened to see this post tonight as I was looking around.  Personally, I will only do ultrasounds and HCG blood levels during my pregnancies.  I have two kiddos (8 and 5), I had one MC at 7 weeks, and I am preggo now...waiting for the 2nd blood draw on HCG levels.

I have declined all other testing during pregnancies.  I worry enough as it is without another reason! :)

ok...I need to edit this a little...I looked at the list after I answered...oops. I do let them do BP, weights, pelvic exams, etc...I do not do any testing for genetic issues, birth defects, etc...

Honestly, I think the only thing I'd decline would be an amnio.  Those just scare me to death. However, if it really came down to it and there was really a good reason for having one, I'd consider it.  I can't think of anything else I'd decline at this point.
