Hey ladies,

Does anyone have a good baby food recipe or idea that they'd like to share?

Hey there!

I made all of my food for the kids, too.

Here is a couple of things to help :)

This website is awesome! It has been around for ages. I used it for all 3 kids and made a lot of the ideas.

I have this book. It is worth getting a book at a sale or whatever to help out. I got mine for 1$ at school booksale. Love it! Gives me ideas.

I second Seline! I love Annabel Karmel and have used her books with all 3 of my children. She has some great recipes for mixing things up.

Gotta go

Thanks for the tips!

I love the first website (wholesome baby foods) and have gotten a few ideas from it.

Another website is weelicious dot com. A good book is Feeding the Whole Family. As soon as my kids could use a straw I started homemade bone broth and green smoothies. I like to do beef stew, sardines and egg yolks pretty early on.

I also do baby led weaning. I understand about being scared of choking. I was pretty amazed when DD started shoveling scrambled egg yolks in at not quite 6 months. She didn't get her first tooth till many months later. She never even had a gagging episode. I think she was better off in the long run feeding herself vs getting used to puree.

Sounds neat....what do you put in your green smoothies? I'm interested!

Aimee,

I started Cicely on solids at 5 1/2 months. I was going to wait until after 6 months but she was ready. Cicely is only 14lbs 4oz at 7 months so she dropped from the 50% at birth to the 5% now. Her Dr says that she is very healthy...just VERY busy!!! She is all ready crawling and will walk if you hold here hands..she never stops moving! You want to wait until June shows signs of wanting to eat solids like milk is not filling her up and she is watching everyone else eat with interest. There are a whole bunch of other signs that babies give when they are ready for solids. You can look them up on the internet. Follow Junes cues and don't let anyone rush you into starting because "it is the thing to do". Follow your own instincts. Every baby is different.
