Hello to all! Can't believe how fast time is going!

I'm Rachel. I'm a proud mother to Angel baby Caleb, born into God's arms July 16, 2008, and rainbow baby Breanna, born August 4th, 2010. I lost my son due to a cord accident at 40wks and 1 day. His 3rd Heavenly birthday isn't far away and only getting closer. I miss him more than anything!

Breanna is the most amazing baby :) She's five and a half months old -- eating baby food, sitting up by herself, pushing up to start crawling, sleeping through the night -- she's got a great personality -- completely healthy. I couldn't ask for more.

I hope you all are doing well and keeping warm!

I'm Barb. I have a 6 year old DD named Ava. She's super smart, extremely curious, and super sassy. She asks me about 100 questions a day. She's always trying to get to the bottom of things and figure out how the world works. These days she gets mad at me when I try to hug and kiss her -- especially at school. My angel baby is Carson. He died 2 hours after he was born at 36 weeks in March of 2008. He died from a fetal-maternal hemorrhage. He was basically born without blood. It all passed into my bloodstream. My first rainbow baby, Brady, was born on May 18, 2009. Unlike DD, he's a total snuggler and usually pretty compliant. I love that! He oozes with personality and makes me laugh all the time. My second rainbow baby will be delivered on February 10th. I'm 36 weeks and 1 day pregnant today. It's another boy, and I can't wait to meet him. I plan to have my tubes tied during my c-section, so this is it for me.

I'm an attorney and I plan to keep working even after this baby is born. Crazy, I know. I have a nanny who takes great care of my kids when I can't be with them. Luckily I live in a small-ish town and work at a small-ish lawfirm. That means my hours aren't near as brutal as an attorney working in a large city in a large firm --BTDT and never going back. I've been married for 12 years.

That's about it for me. Glad to get re-acquainted with you all.

Hi Renee-
I just wanted to pop in to tell you a story my MFM relayed to me on Monday. He said that in his entire career, he's only seen two fetal maternal hemmorrhages & one was about two weeks ago.

He had been seeing a patient b/c of high fluid levels. Everything had straightened out, but he was still monitoring her. She came in one day for monitoring and the baby wasn't moving much during the NST. The took her in for a BPP, and the baby was still being really lazy. They measured the blow flow to the brain and it was off the charts, which is an indication of severe anemia. Anyway, the MFM put her in a wheelchair and wheeled her to the OR him self. On the way he ordered blood for the baby and had the NICU team ready to go. He said when they delivered there was no sign of the baby's blood anywhere in the uterus and that the cord blood had the consistency of koolaid. It was a massive fetal maternal hemmorhage. They saved the baby with blood transfusions.

In listening to the story, I was so glad they were able to save the baby. On the other hand, I was a little sad that my baby couldn't be saved. Had I delivered in a large town with a NICU, my outcome probably would have been different. They didn't get blood into Carson for over an hour after his delivery. It was too late before they figured out that he didn't have any blood. Other than his color, they didn't really know he was anemic b/c there was no blood in my uterus. The peds and the ob's had never seen anything like it. Anyway, I just thought I would share story with a happier outcome than our own. It also makes me so glad that I have the docs I have now.
