We got one of those fireplace/woodstove fences from One Step Ahead, Vicki. I like it because it has a gate in it, so you can still access the fireplace or stove. We don't very often let Aaron into our living room, where the fireplace is, but we have a woodstove in our family room, and it has a low

So glad that Matthew is loving the new lovie! We don't have a raised hearth on or FB BUT it is HUGE and all stone! I was worried about her tripping from the rug to the tile which is only a little bit lower and falling into the fireplace - all big and stone!! SO I got a bunch of suede storage boxes and put them in front of the fireplace - they double as storage for all of her toys too! I got them for $20 each at American Living furniture and I have 6 - I can pull them together in the middle of the room as a coffee table too if I need to.

That's a fabulous idea Andi.

Vicki, we are worried about the same issue. My co-worker bought the edging from One Step Ahead, but I still worry that he'd hit somewhere other than the edge. I've thought about making one of those no sew fleece blankets in something to match the living room and draping it over the brick. Will be interested to see the other posts.
