Jacob has had a hard time throwing his latest viral illness. On Thurs night he had a hard time sleeping because of cough and his wheezing increased. At the ped yesterday they discovered his oxygen saturation numbers were too low.
He was transferred by ambulance (so they could keep him on O2) to the children's hospital where he will likely stay through the weekend. His official diagnosis is bronchiolitis. He's getting nebulizer trts every 4 hrs plus chest percussions during the day to loosen the mucus.
The little toot will not keep the nasal canula on his face. He pulls it down and chews on it and even ripped it off twice last night while I was there. The child life specialist brought in a bunch of toys and the floor has lots of videos and DVDs to watch. But still, it's hard to entertain a child who has to stay tethered to a monitor.
The Dr in charge does not recommend that I bring Anna in so DH and I will tag team as best we can. The hospital is 10-15 minutes from home, which makes commuting easy. My BFF will help with babysitting. She even had supper waiting for me last night.
