To much to fast! Makes me sad.

Just a week ago Emma was getting up on all fours, and was able to crawl backwards, and maybe one crawl forward. Steve was saying, just wait, she will be crawling forward by the end of the week. She didn't need til the end of the week!! By Tuesday she was crawling forward and by Thursday she was all over the place exploring. She was kind of reaching up as well, probably thinking "how can I get up there!!". Well, this morning I was sitting on the floor with her and she reached and grabbed my shirt and pulled herself to standing!!!! So now she figured that out and wants to do it all the time. This is just going waaaaay to fast!!! She is also starting to hold her bottle! It is making me kind of sad. My little baby is growing up so fast. I'm really trying to enjoy every minute of this time. I know I am so blessed to have gotten this second chance, but it still makes me sad that it is going by so fast.
First time around it was so much fun to see all the progress, not realizing that babyhood goes by in a flash and then they are toddlers, and even that goes by fast.

*tears in eyes*

It does go waayyy too fast! Wow, crawling to standing in a week. Amazing. Maybe Emma will be happy with standing for a while and let you savor it while it lasts. I'm sure you're not ready for cruising. :O

DH and I were just talking the other day about how you really only get 2 years of "baby" time. Last Easter Fiona was still so babyish. Looks...speech...and now she is such a girl. One year really brings the changes. I always thought a 3 year old was so young until I had one myself.

I know how you feel! Every milestone is bittersweet. I've felt this way with all of my kids, but knowing that Ben is our last makes it even harder. I'm happy with our family, but if it wasn't for the infertility, I might consider trying for a brother for Ben. As it is, I just can't envision myself doing another cycle. I won't say never, but at this point I just don't see it happening.

WTG Emma on crawling and pulling up!

Gunilla -

I agree with you! I never really understood when other people talked about how quickly children grow up until I had my own. Milestones are definitely exciting, but also bittersweet.

Maybe the good news is that someday we can appreciate all of these moments again with grandchildren.

Sara did the exact same thing - crawling and pulling to a stand within a week - just wait about a month later she was cruising! Just take lots of pictures and write things down - I know how fast the first year went so I can't imagine watching it twice!!
