COOTIES!!!!

I cannot friggin' believe that my boy spent two days at day care last week and this morning we had to keep him home because he was running a fever, snotty nose and hacking/coughing constantly. Took him to the doc this afternoon and he's on amox now.

I realize that his lack of exposure to other germ ridden toddlers means his immune system has not really had the opportunity to build itself up. But, for cryin' out loud...I thought we had a couple of weeks before the snot would start oozing from his schnoz.

Sorry...I know I need to catch up with a lot of posts from a lot of others...I'll check in again later. I just HAD TO VENT!!!!

Seirously Andrea, this is the numero uno reason I hated having A in daycare.

Sara isn't in daycare but I noticed her sickies going up as soon as we started going to playdates and meetings at the indoor playground - etc etc - since they have been home for so long their liitle immune systems need to catch up! I am sure he will get better quickly and then the next one won't be as bad - kwim? Give that cutie a hug for me and know that it will get better!!

Yeah, this is the drawback. The upshot is that by the time he gets to kindergarten he'll have gone through the gamut of germs there are. Poor guy, I'm sorry for him. Boy he wastes no time!

Ugh! That sucks. We don't have the issue with Dax and daycare, but he does pick up colds and such from the park district and gym activities. Never fun when they don't feel well. Hope Nick is better soon!

Thanks you guys.

This morning he was still snot nosed and coughing, but no sign of a fever. He actually woke up without crying too, which was huge. He had a hard couple nights (as did I) with the congestion and stuffiness/runniness in his sinuses.

Bethany, I had to laugh at you calling yourself one of "those" parents. I felt absolutely horrible dropping Nick off this morning with the runny nose and coughs. The teachers at daycare were so blase about it...they see the snotties all the time. I'm sure, I too, will eventually become one of "those" parents.

So, any recs on vitamins that will help boost the immune system?? Maybe I'll start another thread on that....
