Caren gave you some excellent advice. Even though all of the books say don't compare your multiple birth children, it's impossible not to do so.

Caren is definitely much more the expert with trying to figure out what is going on. I didn't know who we should go to for the evaluations at different times, but our pediatrician was the one who helped us make the arrangements. I'm not sure why we ended up being evaluted with physical therapy instead of occupational therapy though.

So I'd suggest starting with your pediatrician and finding out where the ped suggest you go for an evaluation. Caren is right that it can take awhile to get appointments - like 2 or 3 months in our area.

Another thing is if there are flags or concerns, but not enough to qualify for services, keep checking back over time. Marcus was evaluated before he was 2 years old for speech and the doctor was concerned. It took almost 6 months for the next evaluation to be done and by then he was "behind, but not far enough to qualify." Again at 3, he was behind but not enough to qualify for services. He finally qualified at 4. Then he tested out of speech at 5, which was faster than the speech teacher ever sees.

I thinking listening to your own instincts and advocating for your child are so important. Some people won't understand what is going on - even if there is a diagnosis that says it is more than you spoiling him.
