Introducing myself

Hi all!  I used to be a regular on the TTC boards, and I have popped in here now and then.  I have had a lot less time with my computer since my children were born.

We have been extremely blessed.  Our DD was conceived during our 1st IVF cycle.  Of course we did several less invasive fertility treatments before moving on to IVF.  After DD was conceived, we still had 6 frozen embryos.  Our first FET was a BFN, but the second worked!  Our DS was born in 2011.  We have been so happy and grateful.  We decided we were done having children, since all of our embryos had been transferred, and we had our boy and girl.

Well, surprise, surprise.  We unexpectedly conceived the old fashioned way early this year, and I am 22 weeks pregnant with another girl.  Crazy!  Anyway, we are thrilled, as you might expect.

So, I am back to the boards, because I do miss the community.  I received so much support from these boards while going through my TTC journey.

I would like to ask if any of you have experienced painful varicose veins during pregnancy?  I never had them with my first 2 pregnancies, but this time I have them, and I think they are pretty severe.  I wear "Magic Socks" compression socks constantly.  They help with the pain.  I am going to ask doc for prescription compression hose at my next appointment.  I am interested in hearing about anyone else's experience.  I am particularly curious about the possibility of any complications from this, or whether or not the problem went away after pregnancy.

Thanks for any input you have.  I look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks for all the welcome!  Thank you Caryn for the information on varicose veins.  I had my appointment today, and got a prescription for compression hose.  I drove to 2 medical supply places in town, and neither will bill insurance for the prescription.  I asked how much they cost, and the said around $180.  Loveley.  They offered to give me a few more places to try, but who has time for all that?  I think I am just going to buy non-prescription compression hose online for half the price.  I just wish I would have known this before.  I could have had them by now, instead of waiting for my appointment.

That is my gripe for the day.  :-)  Hope all is well with everyone else!

Oh Haley, that really stinks, I'm sorry! I will be seeing my friend that had these issues on Sunday and I'll ask if she has any advice. Did your doc have any other advice?
