A new Federal Bill, the Family Act of 2011, was recently introduced into congress. This bill would create a tax credit for out of pocket expenses for infertility expenses, among other things.

Here is some key provisions about the bill, as explained by RESOLVE:

I think it's great for couples that qualify, but my family would not. While I'm happy for the families that would qualify, my husband and I already pay very high taxes and are left out of things like this, meanwhile over 1/3 of americans do not pay taxes AT ALL. I know, I don't sound very sympathetic- but have you ever thought about how things like this ARE paid for?

I do support this bill, and being one of the 2/3 of people who pay many, many taxes, I am well aware of where the tax credits are coming from.

However, I feel like this bill would really benefit those who especially live in states like mine who have no mandated infertility coverage, and therefore have to have all costs paid out of pocket. I think the income cap on it, really is fair, in realty because somebody who is making $200,000 a year can much more
