Yay! You've made it to the second trimester! The morning sickness should hopefully lighten up for you now! This is the glowing stage where you have more energy and can start to get excited about the nursery. What appointments do you have?

I had a 16 week prenatal appointment yesterday and it didn't go as well as I would have liked :( My blood pressure was a lot higher up to 132/82 from 110/64 from 5 weeks ago and the doctor has put me off work and off my feet until May 8th. That is when I go to the high risk clinic at a nearby university hospital. I feel kind of distressed because this is really early and I wasn't expecting it and never had blood pressure issues in either of my last two pregnancies. My sister (who is an RN) reassured me that I should be fine. On a more positive note, we were able to hear the heartbeat which was a strong 140 bpm and hear the baby kick... I was already feeling movement :)

So now I am at home with my feet up and computer on my lap.... at least the swelling in my legs has gone down :)

Had a checkup today, just a visit with my OB. She's leaving the practice, starting her own, so that was a bummer... but, I'm following her. I like her a lot, and at her current practice she won't necessarily deliver Zoë --whomever is on duty will. I don't like that at all. So there's that. Plus, she's just a good doc. So, in spite of the insurance nightmare this will be, we're going with her, and our next appt (the dreaded GD appt) will be at her new office in 3 weeks.

Babe is fine, nice strong heartbeat (I listen to her all the time with my own doppler, so that's never been a worry). I'm measuring a smidge big, but then I always do because I have big babies. BP was good. My total weight gain is 16lbs, only up 5 pounds since my appt last month, and I'll take it. I just knew it would be something stupid like 10 lbs since I eat everything and since I'm HUGE. (I'll get a pic in here from Tuesday.)

Oh, and finally, and maybe the best thing, is that the doc isn't going to let us go past 39w, so we'll be having Zoë by July 29. I'm very happy about this. As you know, I'd already decided I wouldn't be pregnant in August, and this cinches it! :) I've been induced 2/3 of my pregnancies, so this is nothing new for me. I'll be ready!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Sorry about your BP and bedrest, but glad you're taking the necessary measures to be well. Hopefully taking it easy will help.

Glad to see that babe is doing well! I love the kicks. Totally the best part of pregnancy!!

Love that movement :) I'm high risk and I've been on bed rest or years...ok, not years, but it feels like it! Trust me..it helps and it's better to do that than stress about bp pills or preterm stuff.

You look great! Not big! Glad the appt went well...and great that you found a doc you like. I don't like any of mine..there's a team of like 12, so it gets frustrating to have to explain the same thing to each one at the diff appts. Grats on July :). And good luck on your gd appt.
