and I am incredibly nervous!
It was fine, there was a heartbeat which was positive.
I have to agree with Wendy that cycles are just unpredictable. Even if you know exactly when you ovulate, there's no way to know 100% when everything met and when conception actually occured.
And, even techs get things wrong. In the first trimester, baby is so tiny, and if they put that little tool to measure even just inside or just outside where the baby or sac or pole is, measurements can be off. And yes, they're trained to be really accurate, but I'm really accurate in my job, too, and I do make mistakes. It happens.
The good news is three-fold here: 1) you saw the baby, 2) the baby has a heartbeat, and 3) you get to go back in 2.5 weeks and hopefully do this all again! So much good news!! Definitive dates are great, but really, even when they "know," they don't really know with 100% certainty.
Will be keeping you in my thoughts and hope that the next couple weeks go by very quickly and all is well at your next appointment. In the meantime, try to think happy thoughts. And pray if you've a mind to do so. Prayer always makes me feel better.
My next ultrasound is March 29th and they are going to do the nuchal fold around that time as well.
Kiri....sooooo many prayers going out to you that all continues to go well!!
