I know there are a few lurkers on this board.  I know there are some that had their babies and still peek in from time to time as well.  How many Pregnant mums do we have here at the moment?  A few?  Say hi :smileyhappy:  We want to see how you're doing!

ugh.. 10 to 12 weeks.  I would be sneaking in to the ultrasound dept to do it myself! :smileywink:  Maybe you could ask the nurse for some reassurance and have her check to see if you can get in sooner.

First off.. CONGRATS!!  This little surprise is wonderful news.

I'm 42 and just had triplets 3 months ago (at 41)...and no, not IVF.  To me, age is just a number.  If you are healthy both mentally and physically then I see no reason to not have a baby.  I see the same issues with pregnancy at all ages.

Welcome to the group.  There are quite a few pregnant 40+ mamas around here, so hopefully they'll jump on in and say hi.

CONGRATS!  I could have written your post!  I have 3 children from my previous marriage.  I remarried in March (on St. Patrick's Day) and my DH and I are expecting #4 in early March!  I went through the same worries and fears (still am but I feel a bit better after my NT scan and bloodwork).  Best wishes to you and enjoy the pregnancy!!!

I haven't been on these boards in ages (obviously 'cause now I'm 39).  DH and I had been trying to conceive #3 for over three years.  Was seeing a fertility specialist for a couple years who, as it's now apparent, was too "hands-off."  She'd mostly talk, prescribe some Clomid here and there and assume I'd get PG pretty much on my own since my HSG and all my lab tests (though not much or often) were normal.  Frustrated, I went to a different RE about 1 1/2 -2 yrs ago, and he was too aggressive I felt .  He wanted to rush into all sorts of expensive procedures and IUI.  If it didn't take "we'll then try to figure out what's wrong." he said.  And he'd give this insincere, fake hug at the end of your appointments - I wasn't comfortable there.  Went back to laid back RE and tried a different med and a trigger shot with no success.  So got recommendation from GYN for yet another fertility specialist that I now like.  We had sort of accepted that PG just won't happen, but made this one very last attempt.  We did meds and IUI.  I took a home PG test yesterday and, at 14 days past the IUI, it was negative--but the office called and said my bloodwork shows positive, but low with HcG at 18.9.  I go to see if it doubled tomorrow, but I can feel the nauseouness  and boob sensations getting stronger over today.  I'm just SO scared.  I wanted a baby so badly just a few months ago, but I now faced with it, I feel "past" the baby stage.  I came to terms with my family as it is.  DS is about 10 and DD is almost 6.  I'm flipping out at the thought of "messing up" the way things are.  I couldn't sleep last night, I woke up nauseous and hot, then cold and used the bathroom several times.  If I already feel rotten at 4 weeks, how am I gonna feel the next 8 months?? I don't know if my body can handle this at my age.   Reading some posts here have calmed me a bit.  I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts.  Thanks.

I told myself if we weren't preggo by 40, I wasn't going to try anymore.. so at 40 we started just planning a future with our 1 daughter and thinking about disneyland trips, etc.  We had tried for 5-6yrs and I didn't want to go through anymore disappointment each month when AF showed up.  My GYN did all sorts of tests to see if anything was wrong...  nope, all perfect, so we had no clue.  We had an u/s to see if I was ovulating.. yup, no prob there..  and I was told to start using the digital opks with the smiley face.  We got preggo that month.. with triplets!

yes, my body was exhausted... age related?  who knows..

I'm sending you heaps of sticky baby dust your way and hope you have a healthy and happy 9 months!  :smileyvery-happy:

posting, but nervous.

today i'm 5 weeks exactly. we had an iui on 9/13 that's why i know exactly when i o'ed. i've had two miscarriages in the past year and so i'm worried about this one but excited too. i had my betas done at day 14 (70) and day 18 (374), so they are doubling nicely. we go in on the 18th of October (exactly 7 weeks; two weeks from today) for our first u/s. hopeful that the next two weeks go quickly.

tentatively excited.

I just turned 45 and we have been hoping to get pregnant, but I knew the odds were going to be slim, but just found out I'm pregnant last week. My midwife wanted to get an early ultrasound since I had a missed m/c earlier this spring. Turns out I'm 6w3days and there was a strong heartbeat of 140bpm. I want this baby so bad, but am scared to get too excited until I reach the 12 week mark. I just joined the forum after reading some of the posts. I hope to be able to contribute. :smileyhappy:  Anne
