I'm back!!  My name is Krista and I am 40, Dh is 43.  I was here at this time last year with my 5th son, Will, who was a big surprise:)  Sadly, he had Trisomy 18 and passed away at 14 weeks.  We were devastated and decided to TTC until his due date in October.  That came and went and after another m/c in November (earlier this time), we decided we were finished TTC and that we had our hands full with our 4 boys (6, 8, 10, 13).  I had just come to terms with Will's loss and the hole that seemed to still be in our family at Christmas time, as we left for a family cruise to Mexico the first week of January.  We all enjoyed our trip immensely.  When I got home, I realized I was a day late for AF, took a HPT and the line came up immediately.  Once again, I was shocked!  How could this happen when so many months of charting, timing, etc. didn't lead up to a baby?  I had my HCG levels drawn on Wednesay and Friday;  they were 887 and 1791, and my progesterone was 29.6.  I've always had low progesterone with my other 7 pregnancies and needed suppliments, so I am so happy to see that this pregnancy is making its ownSmile  After finding out Will had Trisomy 18, I have always wondered if I prolonged his pregnancy by taking the progesterone...maybe he would have miscarried early if I wasn't on it and we wouldn't have gone through such agony?  When I found out I was pregnant this week, I wondered what I should do when I got back the low progesterone numbers.  Take the suppliments or not and hope for the best?  I was really torn.  Thankfully, God took that dilemma out of my hands by giving me such great progesterone numbers!  He knew I couldn't face another "what-if" whatever the outcome.  This baby is truely in God's hands and I am just along for the ride--no decisions to be made!  I'm excited, but so nervous.  I would love to have the pregnancy bliss I had with my first four sons--but I'm trying not to get too attached in case I lose another one.  Does that make any sense?  Sorry for the long post!!  I don't feel like I can talk to anyone right now, because no one knew we were TTC and I am so fearful of another loss.

Hope everyone has a wonderful, healthy pregnancy!

Yes, I told him on Saturday--had to wait for him to be in a good moodWink  He wasn't too excited; more in shock, I think.  He kept shaking his head and saying, "Wow!....wow....really?  Maybe you misread the test?"  Ha!Ha!  He said this one is definitely the last as he is tired of all the sadness from losing babies...He joked about going to see his doctor.  Lol!  I have my first OB appt at 7 weeks on Tuesday, January 29th.  I'm anxious to see the u/s, but scared at the same time.  The thought of our last u/s always brings tears to my eyes.  Right now, I'm trying just to set small milestone for myself and not too far down the road--it is overwhelming.  So right now, I'm just trying to get to the 7 week appt.  I'm 5 weeks today, so 2 to go!

Hi there Krista...congratulations!!!  I'm still around too.  I will hit the 34 week point tomorrow with my 4th child.  I have 3 ds's and this one is a girl!  I am 42 years old.  I remarried last year on St. Patricks Day and a few days before the wedding I suffered a m/c.  Luckily, 3 months later I was pg again.  It has been a great pregnancy except I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes this time around which can be challenging but luckily temporary.

Wishing all the mommy's a happy, healthy pg!!

Wow Dani!  You are so close to holding your baby girl.  Congratulations!  I have 4 ds and lost 1 ds in pregnancy, so I'm guessing DH only has male spermWink  I think a girl would be even more shocking than finding myself pregnant!  LOL!  But you never know....

Best wishes for you in the next few weeks!  How old are your ds's?

Krista,

I hear ya!  I can't believe how quickly this pg has flown by.  The end always seems slower but in retrospect it has gone fast.  I love looking at her closet full of pink with touches of purple, yellow and yes....even some pretty light blue...lol!  I thought I could only produce boys too but lo and behold.

My oldest DS (Brandon) will turn 16 y/o on 3/7, Jake is 12 y/o, and Alec is 10 y/o.  It's been a while since I've had a little one.

I have an u/s scheduled for this Friday to check on her size (since I have the Gestational diabetes we don't want her getting too big) and then it's a waiting game.  My shower is this coming Saturday and Sunday I turn 35 weeks....yikes....it's really real! Laughing

How fun to look at a closet full of girlie clothes!!  I helped my SIL register for their first baby today--the first granddaughter on both sides.  She will be spoiled rotten!  I was perusing the net and found a Chinese Gender prediction calendar that correctly predicted all 5 of my boys.  Guess what it says this baby is???  A GIRLLaughing  Well, we will see...first I have to get through Tuesday's sonogram.  Good luck at yours on Friday!

Hi There,

My name is Deanna age 43.  I'm about 99.9% sure I'm pregnant with my 3rd child.  I have my Dr appt 2/12.  I was in complete denial till I finally broke down and took 2 home PG tests.  Due to my poor eyesight, I missread them thinking negative.  When I showed the 2nd to my husband he said "that's a plus".  I then looked at the instructions and noticed...they were both positive.  Anyhow I'm guessing I'm about 9-10 weeks along.

Like I said I was in denial.  My first missed pd was around 12/20.  I thought maybe early menopause or I had started a new job 2 months earlier and my body was trying to cycle with the other women.  Well now it's 2/2.  I've  started not being able to make it through the night without bathroom breaks.  My breasts hurt every morning and at night when I take my bra off.  And Yeah, I have to keep something in my stomach in order not to feel sick.

I've got an amazing daughter who is 21.  An amazing son who is 7 and has sensory processing disorder (SPD).  He's hypersensitive to a lot of sences, but very mild and weekly OT visits have helped greatly.  I of course after 5 years of no contraception and no babies just started getting rid of all my baby things.  Go figure.

I was part of an AMAZING ivillage group when PG with my son.  Amazingly enough we are almost all still conected and talk daily on our own private group on facebook.  That is why I decided to come back here and find another group of woman who can relate to what is going on.

Congratulations Deanna!  How has your family taken the news?  Just a few more days until your appt!  Are they going to do a sonogram?

I have a follow-up sonogram on Monday, Feb 11th to check on fetal growth.  My first sonogram showed the baby several days smaller than it should have been, so we just want to make sure it's growing okay.  I'm hoping to see a huge jump in size!  I am 8 weeks right now, should be 9 weeks on Tuesday.

It's great to see more people joining the board!
