LOL -- I don't know about amazing, but sometimes life can be challenging with 3 children, for sure. But, our 3 are not little, so that helps. Libby is 19, Will is 15, and Jake is 11. So, in a lot of ways they're very self-sufficient. Which helps a lot because I go to bed very early. And, they're taking on more responsibilities, so that helps. It's been a more challenging week than usual because both my oldest and hubby were OOT (Libby still is OOT until Tuesday), so it was just me and the boys and after over-doing it too much (I've been on vacation), I had to rely on the boys a lot to get things done.
I can see where you'd maybe have an adjustment period. For me, going from 1 to 2 was a lot more challenging than going from 2 to 3, and I don't anticipate adding #4 will be hard at all, and perhaps even easier since the kids are quite old enough to help with everything from feeding to diapering. Now, I'm very hands on and cuddly with the kids, but, I'm working now (was a SAHM with all of them until Jake was 4 and I went back to school full-time), so I think it will be a bit more challenging in that respect. I work from home, which is a blessing for us financially, but I do have concerns about how it will shake out once Zoë is mobile and needs more of my attention. I want to avoid having to put her in daycare for as long as possible, and, if I can, not ever put her in daycare at all. Libby will start college in the fall after taking a year off due to the complications in tuition with our move to TX, but I'm hoping she can get into evening/weekend classes and we won't have to worry about childcare for a couple years. We'll see.
As far as crankiness goes, I had a good deal of it in my first trimester, but things have seemed to even out a bit. All you can really do is cut yourself some slack, and apologize of course when things get really tough and you say things you don't mean. Hopefully you'll even out a bit during the second trimester. And, I'm sure it's not even as bad as you think. I think us moms tend to be harder on ourselves than is really necessary.
Good luck with the CVS and let us know how you're doing. :)
I know the max they'll let us go is 35 weeks, so I'm hoping to make it that far. They said 5 lbs is our goal weight as well.. 3 5 pounders would be perrrrrrrrrfect :)
Teen Mom! Cracked me up! Hi I'm Joanne 43 and 7wks pregnant. Tired oh boy yes I am. I am fortunate however that our dd is in 2nd grade and I don't work, so afternoon naps have become part of my schedule. Congrats and welcome to the board.
Welcome and huge congrats! This is a great place to find support through the ups and downs of this journey. My 1st trimester was rough! I was sick 24/7 for the first 14 weeks. I was exhausted and felt completely useless. I do think a lot of it was to do with the fact that there are three, so three times the hormones. Hope you feel better soon. 4 more weeks and your in your 2nd trimester:)
I'm 41 also, and I sympathize with the exhaustion. The first trimester really kicked my butt. Wait, the second one is kicking it, too. LOL. Hubby jokes that he doesn't remember me being such a puss when pregnant with the other three, but I remind him that I'm also 11 years older this time and I'm not a spring chicken anymore. And, unlike with the past 3, I'm working this time and that isn't helping matters at all. I've literally never been so tired in my whole life, and long for the days of being a SAHM when I could actually get some rest. I took a nap the other day from 2-4pm (I'm on vacation this week) and it was glorious.
And of course you can do it. It's a pregnancy, not an illness. You may be more tired and/or more achy this time, but you can totally do it!
Hi there - Just thought I'd give a quick updates..
Welcome and congratulations!
