Recently found out I am pregnant at 44. I did not do any fertility and it is completely unplanned. I thought I was too old for this. I have no kids and am scared that i will be unable to have a healthy baby. Anybody else out there naturally conceive at my age and have a healthy baby?

Congratulations on your pregnancy! We've had lots of moms that have had healthy babies in their 40s. Have you seen your doctor yet?

TTC is for trying to conceive. I know the acronyms can take some getting used to, here is a link for you: http://www.ivillage.com/acronyms-and-abbreviationstrying-conceive-and-infertility/6-a-144570?ice=iv:mb:msg:mm

Hi...well unfortunately the results arent good. According to my doctor, it does not look to be a viable pregnancy. My HCG numbers dropped from 19,000 to somewhere in the 16,000 range over the last 3 days. She will do an ultrasound on Thursday to be sure but she said most likely a blighted ovum. Although all of this was completely unexpected, now I find myself wondering how long before i can try for another pregnancy!!! I'm 44.....probably not very realistic eh? I'm not interested in donor egg IVF.......I guess this wasnt meant to be.

I'm so sorry :( If it does turn out to be a blighted ovum, I doubt you'd have to wait that long at all.
