Well we had our ultrasound and we are having a baby boy! Everything looks great - we are so excited!!! Now we have to think about names...

The only annoying thing at my appt was when my OB asked me what my birth control plans were after pregnancy. I told her that I nursed my first son and didn't have a period for

Welcome to team blue! There are so many awesome names out there. So glad everything looked good. Yay!!

I have not been asked about BC, although I do see a poster describing the types on the MFM's wall every visit. Sorry your OB was pushy. Hopefully, that's the end of pushiness and she is wonderful from now on. I'm glad you like her otherwise.

Congrats!
I've heard way too many negative things about IUDs (going through uterine wall, PID, causing m/c in unknown pg) for me to use it. We have IF anyway, so I don't think it will be an issue.
I have dyed my hair twice. Both times I used the demipermanent kind without ammonia or peroxide. I'll be doing it again in a couple weeks. Both my OB and my RE had it on their lists of safe things to do.

Yay....congrats on your little boy!!

That's so weird that your OB was pushing BC on you this early. Most won't discuss it until the 6 week postpartum check. My OB knows what our stand is on BC in general (we've practiced NFP for years), so he doesn't even mention it. That seems really pushy to me.....

Anyway, as far as dying your hair, from what I've heard, it's not ok to color all over, but highlights are fine cause the chemicals don't touch your scalp. Yeah....I've got a ton of gray strands. But it'll have to wait till baby is born.

Lesley - that's what I was thinking too about the Merina reps!! It makes you wonder what they really get! Oh well :)

I just did a regular dye at home this time - no bleach just dying my brassy ends back to my natural brown color due to last summer's fade out, but I think I might get some highlights later this spring. I like the fact that not much color touches your scalp and you can have someone else do it for you!

Caroline - thanks! I guess I'm a little biased towards not wanted Mirena since my friend (had a friend) who had a bad experience). But I did some googling have found both negative and positive reviews - much like any birth control I guess. If it does work like it says, it does sound like an easy option for birth control. I hope it will work well for you if you get it!

I did dye my hair this morning too - so thanks for your reply! It does look so much better and I am glad I did it!!

Maybe the Marina rep just visited her and gave her a quota for her free trip this year lol.

Congrats on a little boy! how exciting!

My OB also talked to me about Mirena, but I was the one who brought it up. DH wants me to get tied up after this LO, and I dont want to, so i asked my ob what he thought. He said he wouldnt do it since i'm too young, and we only have 2 kids. Thats when he recommended Mirena. I've heard great things about it, but yeah, if you were asking, I find it kind of weird that she would bring it up so early. They usually bring it up at the 6 week post delivery check up ( at least my ob does)

I''ve dyed my hair twice so far. Both times were outside (which might be hard to do in winter) I dont see anything wrong with dying your hair, maybe just stay away from bleaching it.
