Im 2 days shy of 20 wks.

I guess I had my anat scan at the last appt & I didnt know it. I guess that explains why I was lying there for 45 mins.

I went in early for scan @ 10 days vs 14 as Im going out of country on Wed. The boyz look good, fluid good, cervix good. They were punching & kicking each other. Then I got a blow I wasn't expecting from a new Dr as my regular was not on today; She asked if they ever told me there was a problem with my placenta. I said Nooooooo.

She showed me, its basically right next to my cervix, not sure of measurement but Im talking a hair away from it. She said hopefully it should move as uterus grows. Ugh, just what I needed, something else to worry about! I find it strange that my reg Dr didnt mention it but I guess thats a good sign he wasnt worried. I haven't had any spotting which is also a good sign.

FX no placenta previa or spotting for me.

Mfm told me that the placenta moves up in 85% of the cases...and they were right with mine! At 16 weeks it was covering the cervix halfway...I freaked! by my 28 week scan..it had completely moved out of the way!!! Praying for that to happen for you! I remember when I was pg with my twins...they would "fight" on every u/s..jabbing, kicking etc...and now at 6yo they still do that!!

Yay for reaching the halfway point. Yay for great U/S and active babies. I would not worry too much about the placenta as the uterus grows they move up if it not touching over the cervix now it will not be in another 20weeks.

I agree that the placenta isn't something to worry about. I was diagnosed with marginal placenta previa at 18 weeks. It stayed right at the cervix until my last U/S at 32 weeks. If you're don't have any bleeding, there's really nothing to worry about.
***If it doesn't move, you may have to have a C-section, but with twins, isn't that pretty standard???
Congrats on two healthy boys :)

The c/s rate for twins is high-about 50% nationwide, but that's no reason to just assume that she will have to have one. If the babies are both headdown, her chances of a vaginal delivery are very good.

The boys are already giving it to each other, huh? :-) They already sound like absolutely awesome babies. I hope the placenta issue turns out to be nothing and/or resolves to prevent any issues. Fx for continued great progress!
