Appt update and question
Thu, 06-23-2011 - 7:21pm
I had an appt with MFM doc yesterday, 16 weeks 4 days. He said all seems to be going well. I told him about this weird feeling.its my left lower side, like pubic pain or on the pubic one. Its not really a pain, kinda an ache from time to time and he said it's from the pubic bones relaxing. Do any of you feel this? He said they relax and move over time.i just feel twinges there throughout the day. Just wanted to know if I am alone or any of you feel this? Also I think I might have felt movement yesterday kinda like bubbles, but was getting worried cause I really don't feel much yet. Doc said for first time moms it can take a couple more weeks? Is this weird? Thanks!

Jen, I was just tooling around here to check on some of the TTCAM grads. I am so glad things are going well and I think about you often! :) ((hugs))

I haven't had the pubic pain before so I can't comment, but the sensations you describe sound like early movement for sure.

Me () -- 34 DH -- 37 Conceived DS naturally after almost 2 years TTC and one loss. Currently have been TTC #2 after 2 more years and two more losses. Recently found polyp in uterus. Scheduled for hysteroscopy and removal 6/2011..... Instead surprise

Yay for the bubble movement! :-)

I'm finding that something different hurts or feels differently each week so I'm sure what you're experiencing is normal. I hope it doesn't cause too much discomfort!

Ya its pubic symphysis disorder & it sucks,
I got it starting @ 10 wks. I was walking & had this awful pain on my pubic bone.
Ive been able to manage it with not doing a ton of walking, sitting down to put on clothes, not putting weight on a single leg, except when going up stairs and sitting whenever I can.
Basically the relaxin that is relaxing our muscles & body for birth are relaxing your pubic bone. When its really bad ppl can get put on bed rest & it can completely separate!!
Even as a 2nd time around I dont think I felt more than bubbles unti maybe 18 wks?!

"Bubbles" sounds like baby movement - yay! It's often described as "fluttering," too. I have carried 2 babies to term and have this to say about the pain: At some point over the next 6 months, everything will hurt or feel sore at some point. There's a lot going on down there and your body has to accomodate a baby that is getting heavier every day. Just wait until it's big enough to give you a good, hard kick to the cervix and you have to check to make sure a foot didn't fall out :) It's all part of it - enjoy the normal parts of this pregnancy as much as you can :)
