Are you guys signing up for a class? I just got an app today that says I need to sign up soon & plan to take it at the beginning of 3T. What are your thoughts on these classes? Are they any good?

I would defo sign up, even if they just reinforce the knowledge you already have, they are really useful to attend

Yes, sign up right away. As soon as I got pregnant, they were harping on signing up soon because the classes fill up. Last night was my second birthing class and I think it is worth while. I would try to get in at the beginning of the 3rd trimester because you don't know how you will feel later in pregnancy and you may go early. Who knows!

Last night we discussed labor in detail which was interesting even though it scared the crap out of me. They give you booklets and whatnot which has good info in it. It is nice being in the same room as women who are due around you. I am also doing hypnobirthing and that is a private class at my home and the instructor comes to teach the class. This starts tomorrow and I am looking forward to. After the conversation last night, I need to really focus on finding techniques to relax me during labor. The more tense you are, the harder it will be.

We did the classes when I was pregnant with DD and they were very helpful.  We did a childbirth class and a newborn care class.  The childbirth one was a bit overwhelming at times because it was SO much info but I appricaited it later.  And the newborn care class was priceless.  Really taught a lot of different holds for feeding, how to bathe a newborn, coping skills for when baby was colicky or just cranky.  If they offer anything like that I'd do that as well.  And can I suggest a baby/child CPR course at some point?  It's the kind of thing that you will hopefully never need but it's invaluable.  And it's a great skill to ahve in case you are ever anywhere and an emergacy happens!!!
