Rats. So I guess everyone but me in this city knows you need to register for daycare before you even say "I do". Probably when you get the proposal is about the right time. I just got a pregnancy app a few weeks ago and today it says start looking into childcare. Well too bad it's too late for daycare in Atlanta. Really we want a nanny share arrangement but I need daycare as backup in case I can't find another family. Where do you even go to find other families? What are all of your thoughts on this subject? Do you guys have your childcare plans all set? Am I really the only clueless one who waited too long?

Why aren't you covered under FMLA? Is it a new job? I think we covered this before but honestly I forget, lol. Your plan sounds good. I don't think it "hurts" them to be away from mommy so early but it may be really hard for you. I didn't leave DD until 8 months old last time and it was tough. We may get someone to help out a few days/week after I go back this time but u will physically be in the house sleeping sonim there if an emergency ever happened. I get really worrie leaving my kids with people we don't know personally so I think even that will be hard for me.I'm sure whatever plan you come up with will be just right for your family!!

I'm sorry I don't have any advice because that's not an issue here. Just wanted to say I'm sorry, that would be so frustrating! Hopefully you get something figured out soon.

Well around here you would still be okay. When DD went to daycare we have to set it up about 3 months in advance. Then we lucked out and someone left te program and she was in just 3 weeks after talking to them. Of course that was 8 years ago!!! For this one childcare will be different. I am currently the childcare for my nephew (9 months) while my sister goes to classes during the day/evening. She helps with DD sometime when I need her to also. So for now this works great and neither of us need daycare. Come March when I go back to work she will be student teaching so full time days. At that point it will be too much for me to work nights and stay up with a toddler and infant so we are hoping to have someone come into the house for childcare on days that I need sleep. Probably only for 6ish hours so I can get a solid 4-5 hours like normal (ya, that's unfortunatly my normal, lol). I will start casually looking in a month or two so I can hopefully find someone I trust by then. I get super nervous letting someone who isn't family care for my baby.

I don't think you are out of the loop at all. I am amazed placed are already filled!!! Are you taking any maternity leave? Even so we aren't due for 21 weeks! Lol
