They called to give me the results from my u/s last week. Good news is, that the 2 clots are smaller, so they're being absorbed, which is great. Now to move on with the new issue. There was only 2 vessels in the cord, when theres normally 3. I dont know much about this, but from my dr told me, its nothing I should be concerned about, it will just require more u/s to make sure the baby is growing well. He said that babies only need 2 vessels in the cord, and from what i read online its not as uncommon as I thought. He said the high risk dr will call me by friday to schedule a cardiac u/s to have a closer look, but so far it looks fine. The baby was perfect size and everything else seems perfectly normal.

I did ask why I wasnt put on any medication for my high ANA, and he said that only some problems with ANA need to be treated with medication. Since I had seen a specialist and that I was cleared with any other problem cause or associated with high ANA, medication wasnt required.

Needless to say, its just one thing after another, and after he called I just broke down. I dont know how much more I can take. Has anyone else ever heard of/ had a 2 vessel cord? I'd like to get some more info on it, but my DH has stopped me from googling...

I'm glad that you get to go in a bit earlier, and are starting to feel a little better.

The called me today and changed my appointment to the 6th (yay) so I get to go in 2 days early, and I'll be meeting the dr. an hour later. I had a long talk with a friend of mine yesterday who has had alot of these cardio ultrasounds and she put me at ease a bit. She did say they always made her nervous, but not to worry, its usually just to make sure everything is going ok.

My sister's youngest had what they thought was a 2 vessel cord & she worried throughout her pregnancy. Honestly was very freaked out. Turned out that the cord started out as with 3 vessels, but one didn't vessel died off for some reason & the other compensated just fine. He is a big healthy 5 year old now. No problems at all. Hope to hear all goes well.

So glad the clots are getting smaller. I read about the cord and it seems a lot of babies thrive with only two vessels so I hope all continues to go well. HUGS, sry you have to deal with ongoing issues.

My 9-year-old son had a 2 vessel cord. He grew fine and is completely healthy. I did have many ultrasounds to monitor his growth just to be on the safe side. When he was born, they did an ultrasound of his kidney and liver, both turned out normal.

I think a 2 vessel cord is more common than we think. I know a couple of other moms that had the same with their children and they turned out happy and healthy. I don't see why the same wouldn't happen for you.
