How do you know if you should be tested for incompetent cervix? Can anyone be tested? I read that it is one of the concerns during the 2T and I just want to remove as many possible problems and complications as I can to reduce my anxiety.

They checked mine by ultrasound at 18 weeks. If you're unsure, just ask your doctor about checking it for you.

You can certainly ask to have it done at one of your u/s, but it's generally not common practice unless there are known risks or previous experiences with IC. (At least that's how it worked at my previous dr.) I didn't start having cervix checks until after 20 weeks, and even then it was only because I'm having multiples. If you're curious, just ask. Taking a peek at your cervix during an u/s shouldn't take long.

At my appointment last week (15 weeks) my doctor said that at my next appointment at 19 weeks, they would check my cervix on the u/s to make sure it looked good. This is basically checking for incompetent cervix, to make sure it's not shortening or funneling yet, etc.
