Really bad RLP (I think)

OK, ladies, I'm starting to get nervous. The past few days my discomfort has been increasing (sciatica, RLP, pressure, etc) just like it should now that my little one is not so little anymore. But this morning I woke up with pretty bad RLP. I laid back down and it didn't help. I went to work and it has gotten worse all day. I am now parked in my bed because I can't move hardly at all without feeling like I'm being stabbed in the lower right abdomen. As long as I'm completely still, no pain (which is why I'm assuming it's RLP). But moving even just a little is excrutiating. What the heck is going on? Has anyone ever experienced this before? With my last pregnancy, I would get the RLP from changing positions too fast but would relax for an hour or so and then it was fine. This won't seem to go away:smileysad: Anyone have any insight?

I did, same place as you describe. And I still get it. I feel it if I walk too much... it hurts and is kind of scary, but I mention it to my doc at every appt and he always says "normal" so I hold on to that.

I'll be 28 weeks on Sunday and still get it nearly every day. I have gained weight because of it, I'm sure, because I lay around all the time now just to avoid that pain.

I TOTALLY feel your pain! What I felt is just like you described also. I've gone to the docs office like 3 times for it because it freaks me out so bad! Mine usually hurts for a whole day, but if I relax, put a heating pad on it (on low), and don't move around alot then it's gone by the next day! I really hope that's the case for you!

Sounds like good ol' RLP. I started getting it quite early on (probably from 3 growing babies) and it is just as you've described. It hurt to change positions and forget about trying to stand up to walk. As far as making it go away, doing what you're doing for relief is the best I've got because that's what I did. As Torie said, it's completely normal and just another fun RPS.

OK, so it's now been over 24 hours and is actually getting worse. I woke up several times last night yelling in pain because moving at all is so painful. I couldn't even get up to pee without my husband's help. I've paged the OB on call because this shouldn't be this painful. I can't get into any position that is not painful at this point and can't hardly walk at all :( Hopefully I won't look stupid when it's just RLP, but this feels way too intense for RLP...

I'm sorry it hurts so bad :( Hoping your doctor will get you in ASAP & see whats going on for you. Hopefully offer good news & some relief options!

I do have RLP/Stretching pains VERY badly last pregnancy & this one. I have a lot of internal scaring from endo & an ectopic I had in 2007 so that might be why it's worse for me. My doctor allows me to have Tylenol 3 for the pain & I have to take it probably twice a week or so but otherwise try to muddle through :S

Mine has been extremely intense as well at times. When it's bad, there's no way I can stand up straight, it just hurts too bad.

Let us know what the OB said... as I always say ;) I'd rather walk outta l&d looking like a fool with my baby in my belly than to walk out later with no baby because it really was something...
