I've already said that I LOVE my new OB. I had an appt today and I'm 15w4d. The second part of one of the screenings that I'm having done has to be done between 15w0d and 17w0d (I think) anyway, the nurse says I'll have to come in realy quick sometime next week to get that blood draw because I'm one day short. I say how far do you have me? she says 14w6d. I say no, I'm 15w4d and that is exactly on for my last u/s as well. She says well you're due 12.2 right and I say no, I'm due 11/27. Well apparently someone wrote down that I'm due 12/2 and that's what my chart says and she can't change it. The doc won't change it because he isn't sure where the confusion in the dates came from and there's all these variables with implantation and etc (um yeah, I know that) so I say well, let me tell you why I'm right. I go on to explain that I was on clomid and had a long cycle. The last day we did anything was march 3 because I was nearly cd30 and I figured I'd have to wait the 2 weeks with no bd and get a blood test then some meds to start a new cycle. I explained that I kept temping anyway and my temps indicated O on 3/6 - 3 days later so I was kinda pissed cuz the chances were slim to none. If I'm due 12/2 then that means that the sperm survived for 7 days or more and well, we know that's just not possible. He said really, what are those dates again, he wrote them down and said it's great that I know these dates and that will definitely help but he is going to wait for the u/s with the mfm and see what he says as far as a due date and then he'll go with that.

HUGS, I know how frustrating docs can be. Sorry they have it all screwed up. I know it means so much to us and we are aware of our bodies and our cycles, etc. I hope they can correct it so you feel better.

Oh man, sorry Torie. I can totally see why 5 days makes such a difference to you. I think I just might bring a calendar "just in case" if I were you! :)

I don't think doctors give us enough credit. Granted, they probably see countless women who really don't know when they conceived or anything at all about the things many of us go through to get (and stay) pg, so they assume you don't know what you're talking about. Someone wrote it down so clearly that must be right. ::rolls eyes:: I've dealt with this, mostly with receptionists and trying to explain is like talking to a brick wall. You'd think people in the industry would have a bit more understanding of everything. Anyway, I'm rambling.

I'm glad your LO is doing well and that everything is progressing nicely. Yay for dad being there, too!

That stinks Torie. Maybe the MFM dr can write a letter to your OB confirming your due date of 11/27. Glad to hear you and the baby are well though!!

I hear you on the dates and i would INSIST they change them because yes it does make a huge difference once you get to 23 weeks or so! i went through it with the last baby because they would not induce me because my EDD was 5 days off and i was 38 weeks 2 to them and i was really 39 ughhhh

That's weird what they told you about the swelling. My ankles were doubled in size and they kept telling me it was ok. They were only worried if I had swelling in my hands or face. So the opposite of your doctor. My ankles were ridiculous for a month before they hopitalized me for Pre-E.

Well, my OB is being a bit more proactive than he needs to be due to my last pregnancy. I had absolutely no symptoms of pre-e until the day it killed my baby. I had only a small bit of swelling that seemed "normal" for pregnancy related swelling, and I didn't feel well for a couple of days before, but it was March (in Michigan) and I do work with little kids so I thought I had caught a cold. The day it killed my baby, I woke up with the headache and vision changes. It wasn't until that afternoon that my bp increased and I had finally dropped protein in my urine, less than an hour later, my baby was dead.

So that's why he's going to what seems like an extreme as far as any sign of symptoms are concerned for me. I'm just so glad that I've found an OB who is as concerned as I am!
