hi everyone - things are still going well for us, and every day i am grateful. it is stil quite surreal considering my history. still taking it day-by-day.
so far all tests have come back with very good results. all bloodwork has come back representative of a woman who is 12-14 years younger than i really am. i also have had good, low, slow weight gain and still weigh less now, at 6+ months pregnant, than i did this time last year when i started weight watchers (and lost 30 pounds before finding out we were expecting).
in 2005 i was diagnosed with insulin resistance. this was the only health issue they could find when trying to determine the reason(s) for all my many losses, which they then simply chalked up to 'bad luck'... anyway, based on that 2005 diagnosis, i was concerned i would fail my glucose test last week. amazingly, that too came back normal. i passed! i was so happy!
this same time last year i started a whole new chapter in my life (finally coming to peace with childlessness and moving-on)... starting weight watchers, being more consistent with exercise... i have always been a healthy eater... ie: low salt, eat whole foods mainly, low fat... but up until 2 years ago i was ADDICTED to coca-cola. 2 years ago i gave up cola cold-turkey (a miracle) and i can't help but think that all of these things may have played a part in the healthy progress of this pregnancy.
doctors have stepped back on their super-close watch over me these last couple of months and have scheduled my appointments with less frequency, that is until 30 weeks, when they will see me every 2 weeks until birth.
i'm not here on the message board often as work & our long to do list have been a bit overwhelming, but my positive thoughts and prayers are with each of you PAL ladies, as our road can be challenging on many levels.
love to all - susan
