When did you show?

So almost 15 weeks and showing only enough that my DH and I can see it. I know this is my first and you don't show as quickly, but I would love to have a bump. I find this to be a awkward stage. Little something extra but not enough that people know. Plus I think it will be that little bit of extra insurance that baby's okay.

It might be a long time before other people notice that bump!

WIth my first, I wasnt notieably showing until 5 or 6 months. Before that point I just looked like I had put on an extra 10 lbs or something. With #2 I was showing by 16 weeks, and with #3 I gave up and started wearing maternity pants around 8 weeks. But it all depends on your body type, the way youre carrying, and the size of your baby. Every woman is different.

Kate- I know how you feel about not telling work. I had to because of safety reasons otherwise I would have tried to wait. My co-worker/friend asked why I waited to tell and it's so hard to explain the PAL brain to someone whose never had a loss. Today one of my students asked me if I had lost weight. Which before pg I lost 10 pounds and I'm small already so it shows. It made me kind of sad though because I want to look pregnant not smaller. I have a little bump that my husband, doctor and I can see but so far only one other person has noticed it. They had to ask if that's what it was. I asked my mom when she showed with my sister and she said not until 6 months. I hate what m/c has done to us.

No major appetite changes but I've always been a big snacker. I am dealing with heartburn which is new for me. I've learned chocolate sets it off big time.:( Oh and I seem to wake up really early now and want to go to bed early. Other then that I'm good. No more m/s thank god.

Are you still able to fit into your regular jeans? Mine are tight so I'm using a bella band. I do have a love affair with stretchy pants when I'm at home.

YAY 10 more days!! We're getting so close.

With my first I didn't get that bump for such a long time.

It amazes me how long it can take to show so people will start to notice. My DH was commenting on how my stomach looks more round than just a little pouch. I loved hearing that. Now one of these others will notice.

I know exactly how you feel! I've been wantin to show from as soon as we told people at around 12 weeks but I've only really just started showin this week. I had two people at work call me fatty today, I probably should have been offended but it put a big smile on my face :D I'm now at the point where non-maternity clothes are too small and maternity clothes are too big, I'm just gonna have to go out and

Hi Heather,

It's true you won't show as early with your first, and even then it's different for everyone.

Melissa - 38

DH - 38

DD - Almost 2!

Thanks everyone for sharing. I'm feeling better today. I had to see my general practitioner today and asked if they could try to find the heart beat for me. Since they don't have a doppler they sent me to OB. The OB took a little while but found the heartbeat. A nice 145bpm. Just right she told. She guessing with my build that I probably won't be noticeably showing till around 20 weeks. On sad note she I probably won't be able to have another ultrasound till I'm 20weeks and they do the anatomy scan. I guess that's okay as long as I can drop in and get a chance to hear the heartbeat.
