I am getting fed up with my doctors office! They never call to give me test results. I had my GD test last Wednesday and they said I'd hear back in 2 days. Nothing that friday so I called Monday morning. The vm says we will call you in 24 hours. Today, nothing. So I call today and nothing. She left another message for the nurses and said often they won't call if all is well. I t

Sorry - phone cut me off. I told her I want them to call and tell me everything is fine anyway. Why am I paying to have all these tests done and they won't tell me anything about them? You guys know levels and numbers and I always get "you're fine". Wtf? Would this piss you off? Am I expecting too much? Is there anything I can do about this short of leaving the practice?

My doctors office does the same exact thing and yes it does make me mad. I've gotten so used to it I ask the lab when I'm getting the tests done how long it'll be and call the office in that time. They never call me with anything. Even wig the uti they said they'd call either way to tell me if it was positive and to continue taking meds or to stop because it was negative never did. It's frustrating. I don't think they really understand that we spend this time freaking out wondering the answers because they do it so much. Hopefully after you expressed your concern they do something.

That is so frustratin, what's the point of havin tests done if no one is going to act on the results, I'm not suprised you're mad. Give them a piece of your mind

Thanks guys :smileyhappy: I finally got the right lady on the phone yesterday - she jumped all over it. I got the info back immediately...no gest diabetes. Yay!! I think if I experience this again I will definitely take your advice and talk to the doc. And I may just ask to speak to that one lady now that I know how helpful she is.

I would be furious... You go to the dr for guidance and comfort and knowledge; they should explain everything! Anyway, after 5 losses, my obgyn always made sure my results were thoroughly explained, but I also never minded calling for results. About 18 mos ago, my dr's office offered a service that would email me when any lab work came in. For most things, I knew what I was looking for; for others, I needed his help andthats when I would call... But I always knew when the results were in, so they couldn't get away with blowing me off (they never did anyway, but it sounds like you may be getting the run around). I will look through my old email stuff to see if I can find the info to sign up for the service and you can see if it is an option at your dr's office.... Good luck! Edited to add: https://app.relayhealth.com//ResourceLibrary/rh/general/onlineQuicktour/html/PatientQuickTour.html This link was in my email, so it may be specific to me/my dr, but you may be able to look through it and find something helpful. If you have any difficulty registering or using the service please contact RelayHealth Customer Support at 1-866-RELAY-ME (1-866-735-2963) or by e-mail at relayhealth-support@relayhealth.com. Karen lynn Hope this helps!

Thanks guys!! Karen that is really helpful. I will look into that. I smiled because I used to work with relay health in my last job and they were just the most incompetent people/company I've ever met. Our company ended up firing them. Do you know anyone over there or is that just a general service? Could be their doctor email services group is a ton better than their pharmacy services group.
