I was admitted 6/21 at 7 am for induction. I was dilated 2 1/2 cm, but she was still high, and my cervix was still thick. Pitocin was started at 8 am, but contractions were very slow to start. I was worried initially that this induction would be as drawn out as my last induction (over 24 hours). Luckily they continued to increase the pitocin, and I labored without pain medication for 4 hours. I was 4 cm after 4 hours of labor, but had not progressed much for a few hours, so I decided to cave in and get the epidural. I know I could have done it, but I went natural with DD 1 and decided I'd proved I could lol, so give me some drugs! I'm glad I took it because I labored for another 4 hours with the epidural. At 3:30 pm they checked me and I was still only a 5 cm, then at 4 pm I was 10 cm! She was still high, so it took a few contractions and pushes to get her ready, but once she was, it only took 4 pushes and out she flew.. no coning of the head at all! 7 pounds 5 ounces, 18 1/2 inches long.. my smallest baby yet! I'm already in love! We just got home, and my parents were kind enough to watch my other two for one more night, so we get to have one more night with her alone to bond.
I'm feeling pretty good, only a bit sore, but home and happy. Hoping I can fight off PPD this time.
