Made his way into this world on March 9th in an absolutely AMAZING delivery!! :). On friday (March 8th) I started just feeling "different" - kind of felt tired and crampy. I kept myself busy all night playing on the computer and kept trying to lay down to fall asleep but couldnt. Finally at about 4 in the morning I decided to take a shower to relax my body so I could finally go to sleep. At 5 in the morning I went to lay back down and POP, my water broke. Woke up the hubby, called the MIL to come pick up my step son, and drove to the hospital. When I got to the hospital they started me on the Penicillin, since i was strep B positive, and said that I was just about completely effaced and 2 cm dilated. Later I started getting stronger contractions, one of them brought tears to my eyes so they did another exam and said I was 4cm and it was now time for the epidural. The epidural went in great with no problems, but my contractions slowed after that (not that I could feel them lol). They started me on Pitocin which caused my little guys heart rate to drop a few times, which scared the CRAP out of me. However all was well and once they moved me to my side his heart rate went back. Finally at 10pm I was 10 cm dilated but not TOTALLY effaced so i was just sitting there. I have a picture of me laughing during that time actually. No one (especially me) could believe how I felt (thank you epidural :)). I was so happy and not in one bit of pain. When it was time to push, I was the one that told the doctors when it was time, grabbed my own legs, and went for it. In between pushes I was joking with my fiance. I thank God I was able to have such an amazing delivery and truely enjoy the birth of my son. My fiance ended up watching the whole thing, which he swore he wouldnt do. He said it was because of how calming the birth was, he said if I was screeming in pain he wouldnt have been able to look. Finally I had my baby boy 6 pounds 6 oz 20 1/4 " in the world (with no stiches). Nows the scary part, since he has had troubles eating and developed jaundice. We are still in the hospital and will be here for a few more days until hes all better, but I am sure he is going to be okay. His eating has gotten much better and I have just been pumping for him instead of feeding directly and supplementing with formula (as the doctors recommended). Not the ideal situation, but honestly as long as he is okay and in my arms I cant stress. He's perfect :). Now for some pictures after my long rant :)...
