Hi so last Monday saw my MFM and he checked me and said I was not dilated and he did not think I would go into labor until my induction on the 28th. Well the next nite my water broke, but I was not sure since this is my first. I went to the hospital and they confirmed it was my water. THe doc on call was kinda rude and didn't believe me even though the nurse confirmed it. She said I needed to start cytotek to ripen my cervix. After several ours I was only 2.5 cm, but I was bleeding so much as I dilated. The doc did not seem concerned. Then they started pitocin which brough on horrible contractions. I had to wait to get an epidural because I took my Lovenox the night before so they had to make sure if was out of my system. I was sooo scared to get it because they said I had an increased risk for probs due to my low BP and being on blood thinners. I finally got it and it helped so much, but kept feeling intense pressure on my tailbone, thought it was gonna split in half. The second doc on call did not want to check me cause my water broke and she said it would risk infection. I was so tired and hungry. Finally the next do on call came in at 7 pm and said I was 10 cm and ready to push. I assume I was complete earlier Ut it took a new doc and nurse to get me examined. They said all that rectal pressure was the baby. I started pushing but her heart rate kept dropping. It took them some time to set up and get ready and then I pushed for about 30 mins and our beautiful princess Emersyn was born at 8:31 pm, 6 lbs 1 oz. I did tear on both sides and my placenta was a little stubborn coming out. I had no idea how much loos there would be after. It kinda scared me. I was so weak from not eating or sleeping in 48 hours. I'm still really tired, have Not slept much and been crying a lot. Hope this is all normal. We have an angel care alarm that detects breathing/movement And it went off two times last nite. It scared me so badly, she was breathing when I went in the room, going to doc tomorrow,I find myself so scared that now she is here something bad will happen to her. I want to thank you all for the support. I would have never gotten thru this without you all!!!

Congrats on the birth of your daughter! Her name is beautiful. Don't be worried about the tears...they are completely normal. I cried so much after my daughter was born and had bad mood swings, so much so that my husband who is very anti-medication begged me to get on some. Talk with your doctor about if you need to and she what he/she recommends. I know it is hard but try to relax and enjoy your baby. HUGS, sweetie! And congrats again. :-)

Congratulations! That's so small! Sorry you're feelin so rough, try to get lots of sleep and rest when you can. Make sure you are eatin well (I know it's very hard to think about such things in the beginning but if there is someone you can ask to make meals for you please do!) The crying is more than likely the massive fluctuation of hormones you have after giving birth, it should settle over the next few days. Take care of yourself *hugs* and congrats on your princess momma!

Awwww...the crying is normal. Those hormones can be pretty nasty after birth. {{{HUGS}}} Just make sure you're getting adequate rest...sleep when she sleeps. And you really need to make sure you're eating well and drinking lots too. I always found it helpful to either make (or have someone else make) a tray of healthy snack foods right by you..ie. cheese and crackers, fruits and veggies, etc. And keep a huge water bottle by you as well.

I know it can be hard at the beginning, but try and enjoy her as much as you can....they grow so fast. :)

Congrats again, Jen!
