I don't understand why this is supposedly no big deal.

They called back and the Perinatologist and the OB both said it's normal. The nurse kept trying to tell me to try to relax and everything looks good. I was very up front this time because, like I said, I just don't want any surprises, and asked if they would be "sugar coating" it for me and she said no. Their job is to report exactly what the results are. I'm still scared as hell, but I guess I have to wait 3 more weeks. Pray for me ladies, please.

How early can you typically hear a heartbeat on a doppler? I'm pretty overweight.

Try not to worry. I know it's hard. And step away from Google!! With my twins, I had an u/s at 5.5 weeks (not expecting to see much) and was sent to the MFM specialist cause they saw three sacs and only one pole. Well at the MFM specialist (much better machine), they saw three sacs, three poles, and three heartbeats. One was over 100, the other two were around 80. We did lose the third with that pregnancy, but the other two are my twins! We lost that third one because it implant ON my cervix. My daughter is the other one with the lower HR and she survived and thrived.

So really try not to worry too much. Just try to get in soon to check on things again. Let us know how it goes w/ the office.

PS. I have a home doppler (not a very good one, obviously) and I'm average weight. I haven't been able to pick up this LO's heartbeat AT ALL. Yup, almost 31 weeks into it and I still haven't been able to hear her HB w/ my home doppler. I tried every single day from 6 weeks until I could feel her move (18 weeks) and have tried several times since then. NOTHING!

I'm not sure about home dopplers since I don't have one...but I was a little chubby at the begining with this baby and they heard it just fine when they tried at 15 weeks at the doctors....I'm sure it could have been heard sooner too

Thanks Katie, that's why I haven't bought a doppler yet. I'm afraid I'll get too worried if I don't find it. Thanks for letting me know about your babies' heartbeats. I suppose maybe it's just still in the beginning stages of beating. She checked it 3 times, probably to make sure she was getting the right reading (and made me hold my breath). They don't want to see me again until 3/30. I guess I'll just have to pray until then. Man, this stinks. Thank you so much for replying to me.

Thanks Cheyenne. I hope they will find it at my 9.5 week visit. That will make me feel better.
