Need some advice

Hi, girls! It's been a while (several weeks) since I had a blood pressure scare with this pregnancy, which ended up being that I started a new medication and it kicked up my BP for a few days. Everything turned up fine and my BP returned to normal (which is low for me) quickly. So last night I woke up with a headache that felt different than anything I've ever felt before. Even though it was 4am and I had been sleeping, I took my BP with the home monitor just in case. It was 139/90 while sleeping ( I normally run about 100/60). So I went back to bed and checked it this morning before I left and it was 125/82. Headache finally went away so I went about my day as normal. I started getting really dizzy while cooking dinner and checked it again - 146/98. Checked it again after dinner (which was sitting down, of course) - 135/99. So I decided to get in bed on my left side and not move. I finally got up to pee and checked it - 150/94. Now I'm getting a little scared, but I'm not sure what to do about it. I feel like if I call the doctor, they will just tell me to lay down and relax for a while. I really don't want to go through all of the drama of going to L&D, but this is pretty high for me and I don't want to regret not doing something later. Would love some advice on what you ladies would do in this situation.

I don't have any experience with this personally, but just after reading the stories of the other women on the board with blood pressure issues/preeclampsia/etc it sounds serious to me. That' s a big jump from your normal! I think at the very least it requires a call to your doctor, especially if you explain to them your elevated readings even after resting. If the doctor doesn't take you seriously you could consider going to the ER to get some peace of mind. I think considering the dizziness and headaches I would. Better to be wrong and get checked out, right?

Anyway, just my two cents. I hope it goes back down and you feel better soon!

I would call your dr. You just never know what could be going on and the blood pressure fluctuations and headaches would warrant a call. Better to be safe at this point KWIM?

I hope that you were able to get in to be seen and everything is okay.

I would go in and get checked out, if you can. I had a slow rise in my BP and then it got bad within a very short time. Best to be on the safe side.

I hope you were able to be seen by your doctor or L&D. Those sound like pre-e symptoms to me. The headaches, dizziness, rapid increase in BP.... I usually have BP of 110/70, and with my DD, they induced me when it hit 150/85 because it had gone up a lot *for me* and even though it was not in a dangerous range, there was no reason to wait - I was 38.5 weeks at that point. My point is this - if that BP is high for you, then I would call my doctor ASAP.

Let us know what happens! Thinking of you.
