I had my 20 week u/s sound last Wednesday, and everything looked good.

I'm so sorry, you don't need another reason to be scared. These people don't understand that. Maybe the u/s tech just didn't get good pictures. I'm willing to bet that's what it is. When I had my u/s with DD, they said they saw something that could be abnormal with her heart. But they emphasized for me not to worry, and it turned out to be nothing. Also, sometimes u/s doesn't show as clear a picture as they'd like. I'd be willing to say, don't worry and you'll get to see your baby again in a couple of weeks. Most of the time, these things turn out to be nothing because u/s still is not completely accurate. ((Hugs)) hun.

I would be freaking out too BUT, I would think that if it were something serious, they'd want you to come in immediately. Sounds like they just need to get a clearer picture.....hang in there!! Are you feeling the baby move consistently?? BabyFruit Ticker

Exact same thing happened to me at my anatomy scan and they scheduled another one at 28 weeks so 8 weeks later!!! She said because of the way the baby was positioned somewhat face down they could not follow the blood flow all the way through one of the ventricles and they were not worried and wanted to wait until the 3T to check it out because that is when my next u/s would have been anyway to check growth. i worried to but my LO is all good so far and the followup u/s was perfect! so try to relax *yeah i know right??*

I totally understand what you are saying and I'm sorry for the worry. With my 22 week u/s they found that DS' fluid was low and he had a "bright spot" on his heart (which is a soft marker for Downs). We went back 2 weeks later and the fluid was normal and then at the 26 week u/s they found that one of his kidneys was borderline enlarged (another soft marker for Downs). We went for another u/s at 34 weeks to check on the kidneys and they were fine. He is a healthy and happy 2 month old.

I know it is hard, but try your best to not sweat it out. I don't think they would not tell you if there are concerns. Dh had to tell me all the time that they have to tell us these things, so we can't come back and say 'you should have warned us.' He's a nurse, so I listened to him and just tried to keep it at bay (as much as I could).

I'll be thinking of you and pray it is just a image quality issue and not anything hidden.

Sorry about the scare.
I would think you are right in that if there was something to worry about they would get you in sooner. They just might have not gotten great pics based on angles or whatever.
Try not to worry unless you know there is reason to.

PAL brain can make anybody over analyze and definitely over worry. You don't need to feel bad about that at all. I know that my old OB office told me everything right away. I've read other people talk about u/s techs not telling them flat out if they were having problems. Mine have Always told me. I just hope that my new OB will be as candid. I really like that. But I'm sure that if you pressed and she said everything's fine, then it's fine. If she wanted to avoid you she would have given you some B.S. line about needing to talk to the doctor. :) I'm so glad you got some reassurance.

I think this happens a lot. Sometimes the tech is able to see all 4 chambers when it's in motion but cant' get a good photo clearly showing all 4 chambers. I'm sure everything is fine! You should enjoy the fact that you get to see your LO again :)
