PAL brain :-(
Mon, 01-30-2012 - 7:44am

I'm going a little mad here. I'm into week 11, which is the week we first discovered that a 2010 pregnancy had gone wrong - the m/c part of it dragged on until week 18 (have had 2 more m/c sinc then that ended earlier). I'm getting some unusual pains which I'm (in faith) putting down to severe constipation but generally feeling a bit lousy & fearful.

Can't wait for 12-week scan next Friday to see a healthy fully-formed little one with a strong heartbeat. Not sure how I'm going to survive between then and now.

ALSO one of my pregnancy symptoms in the first trimester is lying awake for hours at night. This is getting to me! Anyone else have this problem and found a solution? Docs & natural health people have told me I can't take anything for it. But I'm SOOO tired and have a part-time day job that I need to keep up with, besides not wanting to behave like dragon-lady with my hubby & kids! :-(

((Hugs)) it is so hard reaching those milestones and trying to be positive and not think about last time.

The only natural remedy to insomnia I have tried and it help a little is to put a damp pair of socks on when you go to bed, not freezing cold and put a pair of wool socks over top to keep your feet warm. The damp socks are supposed to stop you from letting your mind wander and you only think about wet feet which helps you fall to sleep. I have only done this twice as I don't tend to have problems sleeping so can't really say if it would help someone with more severe insomnia.

Sending you P&PT that all will be great at your scan and you will see your little bean happy and healthy!

Sorry your PAL brain is gettin to you, the waitin sucks. Insomnia sucks too, I was advised to try starin really hard into the corner of the room, it's really difficult when you're tired and it makes your eyelids tired. Fortunately I never got round to tryin it but between than and your wet socks you might manage some sleep!

PAL brain really does suck! As far as the insomnia the only thing I found that helps is if I do what I call "yoga breathing". When the insomnia gets really bad I lay in bed with my eyes closed, focus on my breathing and count each breath. In my head I repeat "In-One, Out-Two, In-Three, etc." I know it sounds weird but I never get to twenty because I usually fall asleep by then. :-) I hope some of these tips will help you!

Sorry that PAL braining is getting to you - we all go through it, so you are not alone!! Sending all kind of sticky baby vibes that you are going to see your beautiful little on in there healthy and happy next week! I lost my first LO at around 12 weeks, so know your anxiety coming into this scan.... Hang in there - it will be here soon!

I found that for insomnia, I read a lot before
