Spotting

So yesterday when I went to the bathroom I noticed a little spotting. Of course I started to freak out. Called the doctors office only to be put on hold for 11 min to just be told a nurse would call me back. 30 min of agonizing wait later I finally get a call back. The nurse said she would send a note to my ob. I said that was not enough I wanted to come in and see him. So I was told they could get me in right away. Get in and he checks and cervix is closed but he is worried about it thining. He then decided to send me to labor and delivery for more testing. Got hooked up to the machines no signs of contractions and got to hear the heartbeat the whole time. I love that you can hear and feel the baby's kicks. After monitoring for awhile they decided to check the cervix again and were still worried about thining. They then decided to give me shot to help the babies development just to be safe. After that I was sent to ultrasound to get a better view of my cervix. It looked good thankfully. To be on the safe side they had me stay home today and I have to go back for another shot and their going to take a fluid sample to check for blood and amniotic fluids. Hoping to hear more good news tonight. Will spend the rest of the day trying to keep PAL brain at bay.

Aww, Heather I'm so sorry! That must have been scary. I'm glad to hear that everything looks good. I hope everything turns out fine and this is just some random spotting.

Glad they decided the cervix looked ok. Please talk it easy and bake that baby for awhile longer.

Thanks for the well wishes. The FFN is the test their going to do tonight when I go in. That and a betamethasone injection. I will update after I get done there and have the results.

Well I went last night and the new doctor that was on last night decided that since my cervix had measured 3.5 cm that I didn't need the FFN. While it would have been the final piece of comforting news I'm okay with not having it. Plus I figure if my regular ob has a problem with my not having it he'll order it on Monday. So just had the shot and was released from labor and delivery. No spotting since Thursday. I hope pray it was just a fluke and I won't have any more.

((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) Heather,

I'm sorry about the scare. I hope it was just random spotting that means nothing and that your cervix isn't thining.

Sending you go away spotting vibes and calming vibes. Can't wait to hear an update!

I'm glad to hear that your spotting has gone away. My friend had the same thing happen at about the same point in her pg. too. After a day or so the spotting let up and she is back to work now with no complications.
