update - doctor appointment

ok, doctor appointment was disappointing, but the bean is still hanging in there. My 3rd beta was 316 - which gives me about a 71-72 hour doubling time, just on this side of the normal range. But the doctor was not concerned at all about the doubling - she said she only really worries about that in the beginning and my first 2 numbers doubled fine. She said at this point, she wants to see the number going up every week, and if it plateaus or goes down, we have problems. She also said, "I'm warning you now, at 316, we won't see anything on the u/s."

We did the u/s and she saw only that my lining is still nice and thick and she did say my cervix is long, which is very good also. We talked more about how far along I might be - I said based on O date, I think I am 5w5d and shouldn't we be able to see the sac? She said, not necessarily, and when I said I was getting BFNs at 12DPO, she kind of said, oh well, I don't even know if you're that far along yet.

It ended with her saying that all we can do is wait and see. Keep coming for weekly b/w and weekly u/s until the pregnancy declares itself. But although I was disappointed, she still was very cautiously optimistic. She was very happy that the spotting and cramping has been gone for almost a week.

She also said, look, try to be patient. If you hadn't had any spotting, we wouldn't even be seeing you for another couple of weeks, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2 more weeks until we really saw something on the u/s.

I feel disappointed and frustrated, but am trying to stay positive. My numbers are going up and all of my PG symptoms keep getting stronger. I think the best I can do right now is hope for the best and take care of myself and the bean, and just pray it hangs in there for the long haul.
