Hi, I had contrx on mon and tues but was not dilating. I had them last nite for over 5 hrs ranging from 5 to 16 mins apart. All day today, I've been having them on and off, but been really crampy all day. I'm away in NJ now, abt 3 hrs from home for a family event. So not sure what to do, resting and drinking water now. Is this crampy feeling normal? I'm 34 weeks today. I'm just scared that something is wrong, LO has been moving a lot, but the cramps worry me. Not sure what to do cuz doc is far away. Any suggestions? Thx!

I never had any contractions with my 2 boys. With this one, I started feeling BH at 15 weeks. They got more regular around 27/28 weeks. Since then, I have bouts of 2 or more hours of them at a time. A couple weeks ago, they were 3-5 minutes for almost 3 hours. But like you, it is doing nothing for dilation.

I would just go. 3 hours really isn't that far away. Even if your water were to break, it's not that far.

I am almost 39 weeks and still get cx almost every 5-10 minutes, most of the day. I also get AF-esque type cramps low and around my back. Some of the CX are pretty painful, last 1-2 minutes and at time make it hard to breathe. And guess what? I'm still not dilated at all!!

Well at least I'm not alone. I guess cramps are a part of the whole thing.

I agree with michelle unless they're regular I would just try and rest. Hope you're feeling better.
