Anyone get pregnant before AF returns after a D&C?

Just curious outcomes of people who got pregnant right after a d&c. We got to 8 1/2 weeks with slow growth and a slow hb and things stopped. Had a d&c on 11/13. I wasn't really given any instructions on ttc. I remember from last time that they said wait until AF returns. This time was horrible. I had four days of what I would essentially label contractions and 2+ days of huge clots. It's such a horrible experience and now I have had the pleasure of going through it twice. This has been 2 years of frustration and 9 miscarriages. We are so stressed by everything and were just finally starting to get back to being relaxed and not being so focused on the process. It is so easy to get wrapped up in this process and make it your life. DH has had a lot of problems when the pressure is on so it really makes ttc difficult. We were conflicted on what to do now because obviously they want us to wait to ttc, but under our circumstances and all we have been through, we had a long talk and found a solution that seems to work for us. The problem is that I know my body way too well. If we ttc, the pressure is back on. If we prevent, I still have to know what is going on to know when to prevent (and that defeats the purpose of taking a break and not trying) and if we just use condoms, then it is very clear that we are ttc again when we stop and DH will return to being stressed. Under these circumstances, we decided that we won't ttc, but we won't prevent either. It sounded like a fair solution. No temps, opk's, progesterone, etc. The only problem is that as I sit here I know very well that I am about to ovulate. I wasn't thinking about the fact that I would still know what was going on. I guess really the only thing I can do since I know is to leave it up to dh to initiate. That way I am not influencing what happens with the knowledge I have. So much of me wants to sabatoge our plan and just ttc right now (dh is having no issues and it's fun again) but I know the smart thing to do is to wait and to leave it up to God what happens. It's medically not probably the best idea, but I am a nurse and I used to bending the rules lol. I guess what I am wondering is did anyone ttc right after a d&c or "accidentally" get pregnant before AF returned and if so, what was the outcome? I am trying to do the right thing for our relationship and our family, but I also don't want to be stupid about it. Just looking for some feedback and personal experiences I guess. Thanks a bunch. I did not end up having to go through a D&C... The baby stopped growing when it was 6 weeks and i did not know until I was about 9 weeks.  Since it had been so long they planned a D&C but I ended up "naturally miscarrying" before the D&C.  However, with my current pregnancy I got pregnant one week after the miscarriage completed, against doctors advice.  My midwife was not concerned about it, and so far I am having a wonderful healthy pregnancy at 24 weeks. I think you should go with your gut and do what you feel is right.  My midwife told me the only reason they really tell you to wait is to make sure your first periods are normal and theres no sign of an issue.  She also said many women are extremely furtile following a miscarriage or D&C and I convinced myself thats Gods way of helping you start your family (whether its true or not).   I'm not a nurse nor do I have any medical background what so ever but this was my experience and what my midwife told me...hope it helps. & I hope you have a happy healthy journey.

I don't have experience of it myself but I know people who have got pg immediately after a m/c and gone on to have healthy pregnancies.

Well we BD'd last Saturday night and I am pretty sure I ovulated Monday, but could have been any time between Sunday and Tuesday.  My new doc didn't seem to be worried if I am already pregnant, which makes me feel better.  The weird part is that Friday was day 25 after the m/c and I started spotting.  It only lasted a day and I was slightly crampy Friday and Saturday.  At first I was thinking that maybe AF was trying to appear, but even if I hadn't had a D&C and my hormones were perfect, day 25 is a bit early.  I was thinking implantation spotting too, but that seems a bit early, but possible (3-5 days).  I Guess I could chalk it up to hormones being out of whack, but that seems unlikely too and there has been no DTN since last Sat, so it's not an issue with trauma.  I guess it will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days.  Also, I checked my temp thinking it would give me an indication of which scenario it is, and it was 98.1.  My coverline is usually 97.4-97.7, so I am still above it.  I started the progesterone just in case it was implantation spotting.  Trying not to get my hopes up, but realizing that it could be a good sign.  If not I am okay with waiting too because I really like my new doc!

The spotting happend the same for me... I spotted a very light colored blood and was cramping I too figured my period was coming... completely forgot about it and it never came because I was infact pregnant. Later on I thought about it and figured it must have been implanation bleeding, which to me must have been a good sign because in my previous pregnancy I didnt have any implanation bleeding at all.  Also, mine was earlier than 25 days, so 25 days doesnt necessarily mean too early :) Good luck!!!
