Hello everyone. I am 25 y/o and 6 weeks pregnant with my first child. My BF (baby's father, not my boyfriend), has not really shown all that much concern for me since I told him I was pregnant (I haven't really seen the kid since we found out... the disappearing act he is on could rival that of David Copperfield)

The backstory: We worked together (until just recently). I was always super attracted to him and we became fast friends. We would spend hours on the phone, yada yada yada.

This sounds familiar. I heard the same nonsense from my ex and look where I am now. But let me tell you, don't even try to understand why he said something back then and now it's a different story because you won't ever have an answer......never. I believe that men get caught up in the moment especially when sex is involved and think everything is fun and games but they fail to realize that we women take what they say to us to heart, we actually believe them. And why wouldn't we? Being pregnant, we need support both emotionally and mentally and men just don't give it to us...you are going to go through a lot of emotions and

HUGS sweetie! Don't be so hard on yourself. Guys say stuff and later prove they didn't mean it. I haven't seen my baby's dad since I was 6 weeks pregnant and will be 22 weeks Friday. Just know that you can do this if you want. Like pp said, don't dwell on what he said (I know much easier said than done), but it does make it worse. My baby's dad doesn't want a thing to do with his unborn son, and he too has 3 kids.

Just know that your parents are probably in shock and most concerned about you overall. They will probably back off a bit on some things and be really good for you as time goes on. Just remember to stick with what you want out of it all. Don't feel stupid, because it happens to the best of us.

Thank you ladies, so much, for your insight and support. I have my first appointment in a few weeks, and my best friend is going to fly down from NY to be with me. It will really help having her here with me. I am trying to surround myself with supportive and caring people, and I am glad to be able to add you ladies to the list. I will keep you all posted on things as my pregnancy progresses.

Again, thank you all so much. I can't even express how much your kind words mean to me.
