We all know deep down when our man is a bum (either financially or emotionally) and unlikely to change, no matter how badly we may want him to. If you find yourself pregnant by this kind of man, or hoping the baby will keep this kind of man in your life and persuade him to change his ways, don't kid yourself. I had to face the cold hard facts that I was better off going through my pregnancy on my own. I made taking care of myself for the sake of my baby my priority and put all worries about the baby's father aside.

In August I had a beautiful, healthy baby boy who's now thriving in a much more stable environment than he would likely be in if his father were in the picture. I am truly blessed to have him. His father's not emotionally capable of being a positive presence in his life-- I had to face that and move forward. Here are some pics of my baby boy.

If I had gotten pregnant a years or even months earlier, I might not have had the same perspective, and I might have spent more energy trying to get the father involved and "to come around." I just had seen enough evidence that change wasn't at all likely in this case.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy pregnancy, however else things work out with the father.
