Christopher and Anthony were born 8/13/06. Here is their story:
Well, I went into labor on Saturday evening, after
spending the day at the Oakland Music Festivale... where I
seemed to be the center of attention due to my size.
After timing my contractions that evening for three
hours (they were 8 minutes apart), we went to the
My OB decided to break my water after several hours
because my labor wasn't progressing. AND my bag of
waters was HUGE! This did not create a change in my
labor, so the OB gave me pitocin.... which I could
have lived without... it made my contractions HURT
SOOOOO BAD! After a couple of hours thinking I was
going to die from contractions, I folded and got the
epidural, which was not as bad as I thought it would
The boys ended up coming very soon after the epidural.
The nurse checked me at 7:30 ish and told me I was at
8 cm. As soon as she finished checking me, I must have
completely dialated, because I could feel the first
baby coming out. Things went wild for a few minutes as
they prepared the OR for arrival of the twins.
Needless to say, Anthony arrived at 8:01 am 8/13/06 at
6 lbs and 6 oz... after three pushes. And Christopher
arrived at 8:09 am at 6 lbs and 3 ozs... after two
pushes. The boys were born 4.5 weeks early, and
HEALTHY as could be. We all came home two days later and are currently
working out the balancing act of the twins and my
three year old.
I was disappointed about all of the "interventions"
that took place, but extremely happy to have a vaginal
delivery and two healthy happy boys.
