Isaac and Isaiah have arrived

My boys are here and doing great!!! First let me say thank you for all of the p&pt. Isaac James weighed 4lbs 2oz and Isaiah Joel weighed 3lbs 15oz. The last few days have been crazy. I went to my u/s and stress test on Wednesday to find that Isaiah had not grown in 2 weeks. I was going to be induced on Thursday but then they called me and told me to get my stuff together and come back at 3pm. I rushed home and packed a very quick bag, ran to walmart for some last minute things and went to the hospital. I was hooked up to the monitors to find that I was having some very strong contractions that I couldn't even feel. I was given cervidil wednesday night and thursday morning they started me on pitocin. I wasn't going to get an epidural since I had never had one with any of my other pregnancies and I was scared to death of getting a needle in my back but I was strongly advised to get it since Isaiah was breeech and they might of had to turn him and from what I hear is not a pleasant feeling. After receiving the epidural I was in and out of sleep. My water was broken at 2pm. I had fallen back to sleep and when I woke up at 3pm I felt so much pressure. I was complete and Isaac's head was right there. I was rushed to the OR and was patiently waiting for the ICN staff to arrive. After they finally got there I started to push. With 2 pushes Isaac was out and breathing on his own. Isaiah on the other hand was a little more difficult. Since he was breech they had to go and get him feet first. He was born 5 minutes after his brother. He came out not breathing. They rushed him over to the ICN staff and they worked on him for a few minutes and he then started to breath. I saw him for a brief moment after and was able to hold Issac for a little while. They are both in the NICU. Isaac is on CPAP and still having a little bit of trouble with his breathing. Isaiah on the other hand is breathing room air and is doing wonderful. They are going to try and start feedings with him tomorrow. Isaac is breathing 24% oxygen and room air is 21% so he is getting there. It has been a long road and I know it wll be get even longer. I want to thank you ladies for all of your advice and help through this difficult pregnancy. I am taking pics tomorrow of them so I will try to post them on here as soon as possible. I will keep everyone updated as much as I can.

Robin -

Congratulations on the arrival of your twins! I hope that they continue to make a lot of progress so they can come home soon. My twins were born at 33w6d and spent 11 days in the hospital.

BTW - were they concerned about the difference in size with your babies or just lack of growth? I was thinking there was a size issue, but they weren't that far apart. My twins were a lb apart (4lbs 6oz and 5lbs 6oz), but your babies were only a few oz apart.

Please let me know if you have any questions that I can help with. You'll also find a lot of support on the Raising Multiples board.

My goodness Robin, I've been waiting on your post! What a wonderful story and such an encouraging one! I've been saying lots of prayers for you and your boys. My DH knows all about 'Robin' and how your situation and mine mimic each others thus far.

I'm SO glad to hear that everything turned out well for you guys. Those boys weren't that far apart in size afterall were they? What a blessing! And to think that you had them naturally with one of them even being breech...Hi-fives to you!

I hope that for everyone's sake they are home soon with their family. I hope you are doing well and can have some peace now that they are here and it sounds like they're on a speedy road to a wonderful recoupment!

Please post pics and you know my e-mail address, I plan to keep in touch and see how things are going with you!
