Hi all,
I've been mostly a lurker on this board but wanted to thank everyone for all the input! Whenever I had a question or concern someone answered, or someone had already asked and many had answered! The board was a great support to me... now I'm going to go lurk on the preemie board... :)
Lillian Marie and Corinne Elise made their appearance at just 33 weeks on May 7! They weighed in at 3 lbs 11 and 3 lbs 12 ounces.
We had no warning for the pre-term labor -- my water just broke. We got one steriod shot in and 23 hours later they couldn't wait anymore and popped into the world. My doctor and midwife got many congratulations on a vaginal twin delivery! (I didn't think that was all that rare -- go figure. Maybe it is just this hospital.)
My babies are in the NICU :( and will be for some number of weeks I think. They breathe well, just a little apnea for the one, and they may have some reflux. Mainly they need to gain weight and get a handle on coordinating how to suck, swallow, and breathe at the same time. Overall, I think we are lucky and blessed at how it is all going. Send good vibes and prayers things will continue to go well for them, and thanks again to you all for all your support!!
~Karen
Congrats on the birth of your babies.
