First I want to thank everyone for your advice and information these past few months. This board has been a lifesaver!
Our twin girls, Logan Elizabeth and Megan Grace, arrived on 2/25 at 37w2d. I developed the start of pre-eclampsia and was induced and delivered via c-section pretty quickly. Funny, once they hooked me to the monitors, natural contractions started pretty regularly. I really think I would have delivered that day on my own! I consider myself very lucky to go to 37 weeks with no complications and working up until delivery. I know that isn't the norm. At 5lbs13oz and 5lbs4oz, the girls are healthy and were able to come home with us on 2/28.
I will say that the c-section itself and the recovery has been challenging. It's doable, but more difficult that a vaginal delivery and recovery, where I was up and about almost right away. I'd recommend those with the choice of a vaginal delivery to do it. I didn't have a choice due to my condition and babies positions.
We've been lucky to have a grandma here at all times so I'm finding care for them to be easier than expected. The true test will be when grandma's go home!
They are beautiful babies, eating every three hours and sleeping well in between. My dh and I are blessed. Big brother Jacob, age 2, just loves his sisters and wants to hold them all the time. No jealousy or behavior issues yet.
Thanks again to everyone and best of luck to all of you expecting moms. I was someone who was very stressed about having twins - please know that its all worth it.
