Hello everyone.. Just wanted to give and update. My triplets girls were born on 3-30-2007 they were born at 31 weeks and 6 days. All three are doing good baby A was 3lbs 8 oz Baby B was 3lbs 9oz And Baby c was 2 lbs and 8 oz. all were breathing and crying when they were born. All were doing great when i left the hospital yesterday. Baby B and C were put on A c-pap but are doing good. Baby A has started to eat and they all look great and are very strong little girls. we went to the hospital on Friday at about 5 am, because i was having some pain that would not stop. I got to the hospital and put on a IV med to stop the contractions but it didn't work. The doctor came in and checked me and i was a 2-3 and told that if the meds didn't work with in the next 45 minutes that we would be having the babies. She came back about an hour later and told me that we were going to have the baby at around 11:30am so my sister that was there with me started calling everyone. At around 11:45 the nurse came and told me that we had to push it back to 12:30, at around 12:30 i was moved to the op room and then the room filled up and the next thing i knew my girls were being pulled from me and all were crying and doing great. Today is my first day out of the hospital and its not going to good i have been crying off and on all day and last night. I know my girls are doing good but it's so hard to know that they are not here at home with me and it could be up 8 week before they come home. I will put in pic soon.

Congratulations on your new daughters!! From what I understand, babies do so much better after 32 weeks and your babies were so close to this I'm sure they will do well. It sounds like they are good sized babies and they are getting through the first few days ok. Hang in there.

Just wanted to say Congrats on your girls! I know how hard it is to leave them but right now they are in the best place they could be( I used to hate when people said that to me) but it was true. Also they tell you around their delivery date but alot of times it's not nearly that long! If their already starting to eat from the bottle they are doing awesome! They'll be home before you know it!

Carolyn -

I know it's hard to have your babies come earlier than you expected, but you did great to get to 31w6d. My doctor really wanted me to get to 32 wks and you were pretty much there. I know twins that were born at 27, 28 and 30 weeks who all did well.

It sounds like your babies are doing great and they might get home sooner than you think. My twins came home at 35 1/2 weeks gestationally after being born at 33w6d. So take care of yourself, spend time at the hospital with your babies but don't over do it, and get strong and healthy because you'll need a lot of energy when they come home!

Congrats! That is awesome how 3 of them weighed that much 8 weeks early. Last July my cousin had identical twin boys born in there 30th week both weighing 3.5 lbs and 2.8lbs they were in the NICU for a while until the time they would have been born anyway! It was hard on her leaving everyday w/out them but she had time to heal and she knew they were being well taken care of. She also had a 6 yr old to go home to so she was juggled around in 2 different places for a while! The boys are creeping up to almost a year old and you couldn't even tell they were ever that tiny!

My adopted brother was born in 1979 born in his 26th week at 2.3oz he was born from a crack addicted mother and he was in the NICU for so many months. Dr's said he'd never live past a certain age. He's now 28 yrs old and he's completley normal.

The Medicines and technology today is unreal! Bless your babies. Next year you will be telling a story!
