Hi Ladies!!! Its finally my turn.....
So after posting last sat. (24th) about how fed up I was at 35 weeks and just couldnt take anymore, I woke up Sun. morning and when sitting up felt a little fluid leak out. It wasnt alot and didnt continue so I wasnt sure if it was my water breaking, new discharge or once again urine..lol! I decided to call L&D and was told to put on a pad and see how things went for the next hour. I was really crampy but not contracting and just moistened the pad. L&D asked me to come on in and just get checked, which I did, but had no intention on staying. They checked the fluid and sure enough it was amniotic! I was dilated to a 5 and contracting every 8-10 min. So they admitted me and with both babies head down I was given the go ahead for vag. delivery. The next 10 hours moved very slowly and it was determined that I only had a slow leak in the bag of waters so they busted it and boy did that get things going! I went ahead with a walking epidural in case of complications but it soon wore off and they called for anest. to come pump it up again. Before they could do anything I felt the tremendous urge to push and signaled for hubby to run and get the dr. Things then became frantic... dad had to get into gear and I was moved to OR. As soon as I got on the table I was given the go ahead and our baby boy came out with about 4 pushes. Shepherd Marion was born 2-25-07 at 9:51pm weighing in at a whopping 6lbs 9oz! Baby girl quickly moved into place but my cervix closed a little, so they started some pitocin and in a few pushes Norah-Jean Vincenza was born at 10:20 weighing in at 5lbs 9oz (though they did a reweigh a few hours later and determined she was actually 5lbs 13oz, but 5.9 is on the record). They were both whisked away to the NICU for observation b/c they were only 35 weeks 2 days. I was allowed to visit them a few hours later once I could get up and tinkle on my own. But proud daddy was there with them and gave them their first feed. They were released from the NICU after 12 hours b/c they were doing fine (keep in mind I did have the steroid shot at 33 weeks). BUT we all spent the next 5 days in the Hospital b/c they were losing weight , which is normal but due to them being preemies they had to level out first. This was the most frustrating part! We got home today but have to return to the dr to check their weights tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed!
Both Shep and Norah are such sweeties, he has blonde hair and she has black! And they never fuss... I will get some pics up soon!!
Thanks to everyone on the board, this was such a great support thru the whole thing! AND best of luck to all you ladies!!
Also.... I gained 44 lbs thru the preg and when I got home today (5 days after birth) 35lbs is already gone!!! WOOHOO! But I can now see the stretch marks I didnt even know I had on the bottom of my belly...lol!!

Congratulations on the birth of your twins!! I'm very excited that they didn't need much NICU time at all - and they were both fantastic weights for 35 weeks.

(((hugs)))
