The twins are here!

I don't have much energy still so I will just give the details and show some pictures. Blake Robert was born at 12:22 pm December 7th via "emergency" c-section (it wasn't really an emergency it was just unplanned). He weighed 5 lbs 1 oz and was 17 inches long. Elaine Michelle was born at 12:23 pm and weighed 5 lbs 9 oz and was 16.5 inches long. Now here are some pictures! Last belly pic: Photobucket Sorry to have to take a picture of a picture, here is our first family photo! :) Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Blake's teeny foot! Photobucket The first time I got to hold Blake, 2 days old. Photobucket The babies in the knit hats my friend made for them. Photobucket Photobucket Being 5 weeks premature the babies aren't doing too well and I have still not been able to hold Elaine. It's not looking like they will be coming home with me but hopefully tomorrow Blake will be released from the NICU to the nursery and from there they can release him to me!

They are very cute! I hope they are home soon, looks like they are on room air? That's a good sign. Are they feeding well?
Also hope they let you hold Elaine soon, my boys were early and they let my husband hold them immediately (With CPAP, feeding tubes, and monitors), the only hold up with me was ensuring I was stable, I'd be pretty ticked if they didn't give me a good reason- touch and especially skin to skin contact has been shown to be especially good for preemies.

Blake was actually on oxygen for 2 days and still has episodes of forgetting to breathe. The babies weren't well enough to be held, they had good reasons. Elaine especially was extremely uncomfortable and didn't even want anyone to touch her from the pain.

I hope their NICU stay is as short as possible.
