X-Post

I had a general u/s today, 14w6d, to make sure everything is progressing normally. I met a new doc who joined the appt because he's a high risk specialist (and even has 12yo triplets from the same IF department), and he was very eager from the beginning to answer my questions and make sure I had everything I needed. Before doc got started with the u/s he asked if we wanted to know what we were having and DH and I looked at each other and said, well yeah but we thought we'd find out in 2 weeks. Doc said he'd take a look and see what we could find...

So he proceeds with the u/s and let us know that everything looks good, all have strong hb and appear to be growing normally. This was a huge relief because I've been so anxious to feel them (I know it's still very early), but seeing their hb was reassuring. He kept looking around and asked us again if we wanted to know the sexes and we said yes, and I asked him if I saw what I thought I saw on Baby C and he said, "Yes. It's a boy!" There was no mistakin' on him! Babies A and B were bashful with their legs crossed so we're hoping to get views on them at another general u/s next week. I must say, the frequency of u/s with a multiple pg is awesome!

We're thrilled that the babies are doing well and I'm stoked that we get to give the first boy on DH's side. :smileyvery-happy:

Thanks! Definitely on pins and needles...but my sister and her family are coming out here for vacation beginning Monday so I'll have a good distraction to pass the time!

That's exactly how I feel Kim, it's the first grandson on my side of the family, but the first grandson born a Mathews on DH's side, we were the last hope and FIL is so proud! It was pretty funny, FIL looked at the u/s pic and said, "look at that, he's got an erection already!"

Have you got some names picked out yet? I'm so excited for you! It will be very challenging, but I know you and DH can handle it with smiles, even if you're crying from exhaustion.

I had a surprise ultrasound last week at 15 wks also, after a normal checkup. The dr did it to reassure me since I'd just had that ridiculous hernia surgery. We asked about gender, and the tech said she'd look quick. We are on team blue all around! Our BIG ultrasound for more extensive measurements is at week 18. Congrats on your little guy :)
