They did the hour long ultrasound to check the spines and chambers of the hearts and everything. Both babies are still boys :) Our last ultrasound was just a guess so my husband wouldn't let me tell anyone, but now I can. Now he finally wants to talk about names. I've had a list for a long time. At least we have one name picked :)
Things I wonder about... The dr doesn't need to see me for five weeks now. Seems like a long time. He said it would be more frequent after that and to enjoy the break. So when I go back at 23 weeks and have that ultrasound, he wants to talk about a birth plan already. Geez. My plan is to avoid pitocin induction and go into labor on my own. My greatest fear is what happened to a friend of mine - she delivered her first twin but the second had to be c-section. The dr said he's never had to do that but it happens in 1/20 cases. Geez. Sounds high. Scary. I have had two successful vaginal deliveries, so here's hoping. I did read that 72% of twins are csection. At least I would have good support around me though because I think every other woman in my family had to give birth that way. Who knows. Too soon to think about.
The boys are 6-7" long. One weighs 7 oz and the other is 8 oz. They look great. The one on my right is NUTS. He moves constantly and the other is more calm. It is so funny to see their personalities already. Their behavior in utero was predictable of later behavior with my older to also. ha.
I need to sign up for some birthing refresher classes and find a twin mom who is nursing nearby so I can maybe observe or something. I found a great cloth diaper store that has classes in that, since I'm doing that this time. They also have a twin class taught by a twin mom who used cloth :) Things to do before I go back to work in August! (I teach)
